2004 Date?

Does anybody have a production date on an E55 04 model. Like I mentioned before, my 04 date was changed to 03 and it has been 1.5 weeks since that happened. I was just curious if somebody has a date on their order yet.

I was told that 04 E series start production the first decade (10 days) of August. My dealer said my 04 E55 was to be built early Sept and deliver in Oct. But ....... as I look at the printout he gave me, 2 things come to mind. 1) prices aren't coming out until sometime in August and 2) on my order request next to the term 'Order Cycle' it says 09/1 and this may ... may be a default date that every print out gets until pricing is established. For now, I am being a head in the sand optimist and want to believe this little piece of paper. One interesting thing is that my dealer did not want any deposit, so I really hope they are on the up and up. mp

2004 Update

I just got a call today and was told by my salesrep that my 04 E55 has a build date of Sept 04 with delivery first part of October. I asked him to fax the NetStar order sheet to me at my office in AM...he did tell me that MSRP and option prices still read 7's...

I think August build date for 04's is overly optimistic...I'm #1 on the 04 waiting list as it is so I know your "pain."

My first NetStar order form said 2004 - Build Date Aug 20. Then it was switch to 2003 - Build Date Aug 30. So September is what I am thinking. But, my sales rep gets more info from me than the dealership. So, please continue to post if you get more info like your NetStar order.

Thanks...

Lightbulb 2004 Build Date

Confirmed 2004 September build date here.

Seems like we'll get the Bi-Xenon *Active* Light as well.

How did you get it confirmed for Sept? In the option sheet that I saw, it didn't have the corner lights. Just bi-xenon.

This wait is killing me.

w210 - you don't really mean 2004 do you?? that would be a 2005 MY car.

I went to the dealer yesterday and am more confused than ever. My order cycle now says 09/2 and the sales manager tells me that means it will be built in Sept (its the 2nd car in line) and I should have it December or January! That doesn't make sense - if it is built in Sept, I will have it 4 to 6 weeks later. Another person at the dealership says that the 09/2 date means that's when the build date gets assigned!! I better call MBUSA and get a 3rd opinion.

Does is really say 09/2? I'm looking at the sheet my dealer printed out for me and the way its listed is 03/06/3D, which meant that it was scheduled for build in the third decade of June, 2003. Maybe they have changed the designation and you are second decade of September which would generally mean sometime between the 11th and the 20th.

AMGB-
The Germans don't work in August do they?

Once it's built, it should take 3-6 weeks to get to the dealer depending where you are in the country/world.

My CLK55 was built in first decade of November and got to port in Baltimore in three weeks. Dealer sent truck to pick it up so Rep could get it in his November quota, delivered to me in Northern VA last day of month, late in evening. So you never know. They had told me early December.

reb13 - it does say 09/2 but I called MBUSA today and that is not a hard production decade!! 04 pricing comes out in August and actual build decades will begin to be released then as well. my order already went from 09/1 to 09/2 and according to MB, could change a few more times based on parts and dealer allocation. I hope to know for sure by August 15. mp

Apologies amgB, I'm #1 for 2004 E55 at a fairly large Mercedes factory store, the store manager called me in for option selection last week.

When I was at his office, he called someone asking if my E55 was the 1st or 2nd decade in September and it was confirmed 2nd decade. Looked quite certain.

On the option sheet, I saw bi-xenon as standard equipment (for Canadian production car) while the bi-xenon *active* lights are optional.

mbprince, apologies, it's a 2004 MY car built in September 2003. ETA late Oct or early Nov, 2003 for me!
