A buddy of mine brought a new (2011) Mustang GT (5.0)...this is a Automatic/Convertible. He put an off the shelf supercharger package on it including injectors and a tune that came with it...it was around $5500. He did nothing else to it except for Nitto drag radials, not even an exhaust. First time at the track just flooring it in Drive it went a 10.82 
Not bad for that setup and he can drive it anywhere w/ the top down.
I'm thrilled Ford is back in the game, I've always liked the 'Stangs.

I too am one of the folks in the "F(*% yeah" crew. I'm just plain PSYCHED to see Ford producing some wicked affordable vehicles. For the money...a no brainer!!! Will I ever own one? Eh.. probably not. When they put that kind of effort into a 4 door with a fit and finish that mirrors what we've got in our 55's...and at a price point that is say 65% of the Germans...I'll buy one.
I hope they keep going. The CTS-V sedan was a step in the right direction...now make the fit and finish top notch and boys, I'll be PROUD to buying American like my dad was. I WANT to.

Yeah man! you have to give Ford credit on this car. It's the best looking Mustang I have seen and Shelby went out with a bang in yo face with this car. I personally would want the convertible and the color schemes are tight as well. And think about it with some minor mods you could probably get another 100HP out of the car. This will be a giant killer for sure.

There are a few out at our C&O meets, I will see if there will be any takers to drive down to Mexico, and makes some runs against my E55. I will get it on video and post it up for everyone to see, I will get raped, but nothing better than a Shelby GT500 doing the raping!

I was at Ford yesterday picking up some things and talked to one of the guys i worked with years ago the does the PDI's on the new cars and he said they've sold 4 and the 1st one he drove was no doubt quicker than the ford GT or as he remembered it. He said that car is mind blowing. I don't know who was driving the Evo GT500 but there's room for improvement just from a driving stand point.

They don't use direct injection. Just 55lb/hour EV14 injectors. It was rumored they wanted to stay away from direct injection due to the "aftermarket" ease of adding things to these motors plus i'm sure you will see crate engine soon also.
