How would these be as drag radials?
Pretty good deal on a nice tire and was wondering what you guys thought about running these as drag radials? I know its more of a track tire, but wasnt sure how they would do on the strip.. What are your thoughts?

The r888's have a stiff sidewall more accustomed to road courses and the like. Not that you wouldn't get great grip, just that if you're specifically looking for a drag tire, this isn't it.

R888's are stiff...
I use the Toyo proxes tq and they work good, 2 passes on them, best 60' 1.77 on a super cold/**** rack prep...
Course Hoosiers/MT would get you the lower 60'

What about the Nitto NT05?? I need tires and was thinking these would be great. I do mostly straight line street racing, but these really seem to be the best of both worlds, any thoughts??

All the turbo Gallardos run the R888s. The NT05 is a good tire too, I spoke with a guy in a Z06 once that was running the NT05 and was happy with them and told me I should get them for my car.

I ran the Toyo R888's on my Viper and did not like them at all, they got greasy when hot and gave poor feedback. My favorite tire for the $$ is the Kumho V700 on a road race application. The only downfall with the Nitto NT05 is they only go to a 275 in the 19'' rim and I'm wanting to stuff as much rubber in the car as possible '285'. Does anyone else have any feedback on the NT05??
