Ok so simply put, i have a capri blue e55 and i want to know if i should paint the grill and emblems matte or gloss black...i eventually want to paint the rims black also and was thinking matte.

Examples are welcome thanks!!

Paint will eventually chip on the grill due rocks.
Find a gloss black plastic one on eBay, if you are unsuccessful wrap the grill with some gloss vinyl.

Semi gloss is what I went with to paint my grill

i had matte, and then went with the gloss, will post pictures soon, i also plan to do my rims gloss black instead of matte though

I have it matte blak now but its chipped, and cracked. I still have the oem one so im getting it bead blasted and painted..i like the semi gloss look....

What about the badges?

I started out with Flat black and the rock chips sucked a*s. So now it's carbon fiber wrapped.

Flat black with a $6 can of plasti-dip, have a gloss finish for it as well.

Ya i was gonna get the affalterbach flat badges, but idk its a merc, that star ornament is symbolic no?

Im keeping my tall star I like it.

If i do the e63 conversion though I would opt for flat as the grill already has a small emblem in already.

Looks great! Glad I have a few cans of plasti dip in the garage. I think I'll go with a few coats of the glorifier after I spray it black. CF lip is on the way!
