My, New to me E63 AMG
Hello Everyone!
My name is Hasan and I live in Dubai. Just bought myself a 2008 E63 AMG with 16k kms on the clock.
Would appreciate all advice on DOs, DON'Ts, mods, tips, tricks, etc.
Here are some pictures the car

Great purchase brotha
I recommend two things for your car, American Racing Longtube headers from TTM:
https://mbworld.org/forums/w211-amg/...rs-coming.html
and a tune of your choice although I favour Buckhead Imports Performance myself. Their tune made 443rwhp on a Dynamics Dyno (heartbreaker), this with a bonestock E63 with Longtube Headers and their custom mid pipe as it's only mods. See the graph below:
![](http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q261/chawkins2000/SteveGE63Final.jpg)
As a reference my car made 517rwhp on that dyno, and 594rwhp on a Dynojet, their M5 made 525rwhp on the Dynamics and 604rwhp on the same Dynojet, so the Dynojet reads 15% higher when comparing our two local Dynos. With that been said, that is over 500rwhp for your E63 with longtubes.

Great looking car Hasan. Post some pictures of your car with the Dubai skyline as a backdrop. It's an incredible city, I'd really like to make a trip there sometime.
Welcome to the board, you will love the AMG power.
Some owners black out the wheels, grille and emblems on white cars, it looks really sharp.

Many thanks for your kind words.
I do notice that the cars runs rather warm. The oil temp generally stays at around 110 Cs even when I am not driving too hard. Is this normal, or I should be looking to make it run cooler? I am going to replace the coolant and put water wetter in it with the next oil change. Appreciate further advice on making it run cooler.
I am trying very hard to control myself, but it was a lost battle the day I bought the car.![thumbs](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)
The first thing I am looking to do is an ECU tune and appreciate all advice on that.
Thanks
Hasan

Thank you Sir! Really appreciate your advice.
I want to modify the car slowly. One mod at a time, so that I enjoy the effects of the mods to the max and move on to the next one only when I feel bored with the performance.
I shall do my research on the long tube headers. The American Racing look good.
I am looking for an ECU tune to start with. Do I have to send my ECU to Buckhead Imports Performance to get it tuned.
Thanks
Hasan

Blacking out the grills and emblems sounds like a good idea. Shall see if I can get them foiled.
Thank you Sir!

Welcome the boards Hasan. Your car looks great and real clean.
Is the front plate required in your Country?
Depending on the look you want for the car, if you want it sinister, then you will have to start blacking out the grille, lowering the car, look at some wheels and trick out the calipers with a cool color. I went with Lambo orange. That is on the cosmetic end. On the mechanical side, the sky is the limit. I went with Long Tube headers from MBH and Buckhead Imports did the custom pipes all the way back. Removed cats and resonators to get that aggressive sound. Weistec makes a bad *** supercharger for the E63, but to start with, a good tune and headers is a good start.
Not sure if you have already tinted the windows, but that is a given.
Keep us posted on your project and enjoy the ride.

Hi Steve!
Your car looks very nice with the painted calipers. I shall look into getting that done.
I am waiting for my Eurocharged tune as I type.
I have read a lot of good stuff about the Long Tube Headers. However, I am not sure about the drone and the loudness. And its very hard to tell from the videos.
I am thinking of getting the long tube headers and keeping my secondary cats and resonator. Maybe in a couple of months.
Would really appreciate if you could post some videos of your car. Espeically if you have one from inside the car.
Thanks
Hasan

I have the same similar car!
... Same color & interior.
Also is still Unmodified ... Just waiting for my EC tune to arrive.
My car also likes high oil temp. 107-120C - MB told me is completely normal and can withstand p to 140C without problems.

Congrats and welcome to the forum!
DO: Mod the car...ECU, Long tube headers, Airbox, Exhaust, etc...
DON'T: Take it easy on the car. The car LOVES to be pushed.![thumbs](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)
Enjoy the beast!

oil temps
My oil is around 107-110 if I get it on real hard with out cooling it off it will go to about 115-117 and never pass that and drop back to 108. Air temps being about 80 deg. My water temp never move from normal during this change.
I think you are more than good.
I would flush all fluids to be safe

That really low, my bone stock E63 make 402whp & 367 tq on a Dynojet and I drove 30min to the dyno shop and hop right on the dyno. I could of make more if I let it cool down for 30 min.

I'm having several issue with my LTH..freakin CEL kept coming up even after defouder installed and the steering column rub against the #8 pipe when you make a turn under load. Suck!

In deed is low... Some marketing to sale the LTHs maybe!
