We added another AMG to the family.

Sheck it, my girlfriend's new ride...

I'm in Africa on business, so I won't even see the thing until sometime in February. For now, I'm living vicariously through pictures.

Awesome, but there's a dead dude under your gf's rig. Didn't she feel the "speed bump?"

Haha, he's still moving as of now. She drug him all the way home without even noticing. Currently waiting for him to "check out". Don't want any witnesses left behind.

But on a serious note, that's her father checking the undercarriage out.

How hot is it there now, is it Africa hot? haha. I almost had to go there for work at the end of last year but ended up in Italy instead. Coworkers that have worked there said it gets hot as ***** (and there a lot of flies/bugs?) and the sharing a little CLU (conex box) with someone else didn't sound to appealing either.

I have a little story about one of those G-wagons. Aaron Carter (once singer, not sure if he still does) and younger brother of Nick Carter (Backstreet boy) lived in the Keys where I am from for a few years. Some friends and I went to his "compound" once for a little party several years ago (like 8-10 while I was home from college). Some stuff was needed so he gave me a huge roll of cash and the keys to his G-Wagon to go pick up some stuff. So needless to say we went cruising around town for a little and then got the stuff lol His had like 23" rims or something like that on it though. I can just remember I was like man this thing has a million buttons in it as one or two friends and I drove around thinking we were bad asses haha.

Haha, yeah. It's getting close to "Africa hot". The flies aren't horrible right now due to it being stupid hot. The mosquitos aren't bad either. They were when I got here in February, though. The humidity here is what kills me. I prefer the hot, hairdryer winds coming from the desert than the winds coming from the ocean. I am thankful I get to stay in the Kempinski Palace instead of on base in a CLU. Even your own wet CLU would suck lol. You're fortunate to go to Italy instead. The only thing good about this place is the money, lol.

Hahaha, nice! How long did you mob around in the G before returning back to the party? LOL

Ahh ok, I heard about that hotel, heard people go there to hangout at the pool and it is a really nice place. Definitely heard it sucks over there though (guess this could be a lot better if staying in that hotel though and not in a little metal box lol), some who have worked in Afghanistan have even said they would rather go back there then back to Djibouti lol. The money in Afghanistan is even better than Djibouti though which is already pretty dang good for my companies contracts. Sounds like you are a contractor like myself and not military if you are not actually living on base? I guess you might work for a better company than me since they got you hooked up in a hotel there lol. Guys were living together in those damn CLUs when they went.

Oh and we weren't out for to long cruising, hell everyone was back at the party.

Haha, yeah. I hear it's hotter here than Afghanistan due to the humidity. My company has been present since 2010 on this this base. A few of my coworkers actually told the manager at the Kempinski how long we would be here and how much we could pay. We're on 100% lodging per diem, but the hotel is under per diem. Normally it's nearly $500 per night. We all have apartments and pay by the month. It's awesome since I can actually cook now. Galley food has gotten worse and the hotel food is kind of pricey. Definitely making pretty decent money over here, as we're working 5 12 hour shifts per week.

Haha, don't blame you. Sounds like a pretty good party, then.

That's interesting to me!
I haven't looked at a map but whereabouts in Africa is that (Central, Southern, Western?)
If you are in the Central or Southern region do you have any plans to do a Safari ?? That is something I would truly LOVE to do and its def on my list.
I have also read a lot & heard great things about Cape Town....
