Only problem there is then you are filling up a nitrous tank all the time. Sounds like a big hassle to me with it not being very "permanent." I am sure it would work well and would be great for power though.

I know it sucked having to fill the tank all the time when I ran a 60 dry shot in the past on one of my cars though. You could easily go through a bottle in a few days with not even a lot of driving if you actually get on the throttle from time to time and don't drive like a granny. Don't know about others but I hammer the throttle all the time so would probably blow through the bottle in one or two days then back for another $25 refill (what it cost when I had it, not sure what it is now).

Was it 35 degree's out ? I call bs endless you are running a chiller and methanold injection or your looking at coolant temp before you car is fully warmed up.

180s will break 175 intake temps with ease if its over 80 out
Forgot to say "INB4 IMPOSSIBLE"

I did about 4 blasts from 30-100 maybe 115 about 5-8 minutes apart.. it was at night and about 68 degrees. Is that hard to believe? LOLVOLCANO

I keep track of my temps from my OBDII bluetooth reader sent directly to my phone that sits in a dock.

Also the quote button works wonders instead of stating "THE GUY ABOVE ME"

185mm pulley here, 0-130 pull without ice I see about 150F IAT on a 80F day.

188mm pulley with E85, we saw a max IAT of a 136* on the dyno. This was a 3rd gear pull with no nitrous or ice. You can see how much higher the IATS are with the 195MM.

See graph:

That's beating your car alright and a nice 5-8 min cool down in there as well.

Maybe next time don't make it seem like your beating your car in 90 weather and doing back to back runs

Wanna know how I logged my car for my tune? 3 back to back to back 1/4 mile runs in 85 weather.

And for the forum since I keep getting PMS on my timing up top end.

Ready?

I'm running stock e55 tune timing!!!

Try it and maybe we will stop seeing threads on blown motors for the guys asking me to go over there dynos.

Yo homie. I'm seriously considering dropping down to a 172 or 168 with full cooling. What do you think? I think it would be a lot faster for rolls. Has anyone ran a 168 with a cooling tank as well down the 1/4? I know motorwerks did 11.0 with just a 168

I've been running a 180mm pulley for 2 years with no issues. I drive my MB 100 miles daily in traffic to and from work in the AZ heat. I did upgrade to a much larger EC H/E when I got the pulley and put in a coolant additive (water wetter), to do everything I can, to keep her cool.

I've had zero issues with my set-up (see sig for details) and the car runs perfectly. I like the 180mm because it's, "Instant power" where most of us drive 30MPH - 80MPH. I rarely go above 100 MPH for any period of time.

If you want to behold the power of the 180mm just watch the video in my sig.

180mm = "Thor's Hammer."

So zero regrets here, I'd do it again in a heartbeat.

For a quick burst through 1 gear it is fine but more than that you can feel the power loss as the car goes flat when it is hot out. It also makes to much torque for the tires to even come close to keeping traction at low speeds so you are fighting the traction control trying to accelerate hard from a stop/slow roll or going sideways with it off so you have no benefit there.

It is pretty sad that my car has trapped 120mph when it was 60 degrees but when I went to the track on a day around 90 and high humidity I could only run mostly 112 with two 114mph runs. That is a HUGE loss in performance and I have a CM30 pump and Eurocharged heat exchanger as well as a little seperated coolant tank, so "you just need cooling" can't be said. I mean there are guys with all the bolt ons that have ran over 120 with the 168 and even the stock pulley for that matter.

If you are in any kind of climate that actually has hot weather and for a prolonged timed out of the year to compound that, it just isn't worth for a daily driver to have the 180. Doing dyno pulls you can see the power loss that you will basically see on the street, so having the the big pulley does you no good after one gear pull, for example I can lose 30+ wheel hp from a cool run to a run where the car is actually warm like it would be out driving so any extra that 180 would give you, you probably just lose and could have more consistent power with a smaller pulley.

That 180 or bigger comes in handy strickly for a car that is gonna sit in a parking lot for 45 minutes and get cold with ice on it, then have ice flowing through a tank going to the intercooler and have one single glory run then be back where it started again sitting with ice on it again. This is obviously not realistic for a "daily driver" since you aren't going to be doing that driving around. So in my opinion that performance you are seeing from some car with a 180 at the track doing all the mentioned above is giving people a false impression of what to expect with a 180 unless they have an improved intercooler for the supercharger (not talking about the heat exchanger in bumper).

Those are my $.02, take it for what it is worth.
Wow, based on your analysis, i'm so glad i went with a 168, EC H/E and upgraded pump. DC area is a swamp during the summer w/high humidity and heat. Last few weeks have been hot/humid.

I run a 180 with a stock HE. Once I did a single dyno pull with a very quick break and then back-to-back pulls and saw no major hp dropoff. Weather was lower-70's, max speed was around ~138mph, and airflow was through a few dinky shop fans. I have the printouts somewhere in my stash of timeslips and dyno graphs but I recall them being within 8whp of each other with the final pull being the best. These were before I started logging IATs but clearly the power was still reaching the wheels at least for these mid to high speed pulls. Same thing happened at the dragstrip near closing time in 80* temps - 3 hot laps w/o mph loss in the back 1/8th. 90* weather will hurt for sure though (says the butt dyno).

So the main difference between our cars is that you're on E85? Wow, I knew it was a cooler fuel but still. That's a hell of a difference.

is the Kiwi hardwired or is it plug in play through the OBDII? Sorry for the dumb questions.

One thing I found with the 180 pulley was without a tune and a straight bolt on it was pretty harsh ... once I had a tune done it smoothed everything up very nicely....

Plug and Play with ODBII port, then wireless to iPad with DashCommand.

Great feedback. I think I'll keep my options in the 175 to 180 range. I have some cooling mods already. Just been wantin to do a crank pulley for som time now.

I have a 180 with cooling mods and live in socal. I have not had any problems and I like the power. I drive my car everyday even tho on some days i travel 5 to 10 miles total in a day. You choice should depend on what you intend to do with the car. For track racing I will go with a smaller pulley and for drag I would go with a larger pulley. I do neither, but I do drive with a little spirit where I get on it. I have not experience any heat issues, but I don't beat my car up and do repeated drag racing runs. Make your choice based on what you plan to do with the car.
