Looking for a quick OEM subwoofer swap with Kicker 10" 4Ohm Sub. WORTH IT???

Hi guys ~

Looking for a quick oem sub woofer swap with Kicker 10" 4 Ohm subwoofer

please see attached photo for sub detail ~

As many of you know our HK system does not come with enough bass.

Even with Bass sound all the way up I feel my mid range is coming in but

not the deep sub.

So I was looking to replace it the this cheap sub, Would I gain some more

bass by doing this?? or is it not worth it????

Im not looking for street taring , trunk rattling bass so I was hoping it

should work ok with stock amp ect.. Any advice is deeply appreciated !

Thank you for reading my thread and have a nice day ~!!!

well in the end ~ I changed woofer to a 12" dual voice coil for more deeper bass

and included an amp. With stock unit there is no way to power these guys ~~

I think its a massive gain from stock sub ~!!! Money well spent ~

Did you just convert the line in (from head unit) to RCA for the amp ? Can you post a few pictures of the amp and how your configured the speakers ?

I used this one http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...E:L:OU:US:3160 And disconnected the wires from factory sub. You can cut connectors off them and just pull into the trunk. Install was very easy with the battery being in the trunk. Also found a fuse in the trunk that was only powered with key on. I was able to use a fuse tap to that fuse for my remote on. I went with a JL12W7AE in a sealed box and a JL1000/V2 amplifier and a PPI 2 Farad cap. Almost too much bass for me, but the wife loves it. Just so you know you will definitely need a capacitor. I put amp/cap under the trunk cover. My car has no spare so there is a perfect little area under there to hide the wires/amp/cap. All you see in the trunk is the speaker box and wires to it. I could post pictures Monday as I'm on vacation this weekend

I would really like to see some pics too. I hate the bass in my car but I thought it would be a giant hassle to improve it.

Do you have the Harmon Kardon and the MOST fiber optic cabling?

Sorry to bump this old-ish thread, but very interested in seeing pictures of how you have it all hooked up as I'm thinking about doing this as well. Thanks!

i'd like to see as well - very inerested -seems like an easy fix especially if you want to improve the lil things like the bass. My thought is that I only keeping the care another year or 2 so why go nuts and do what AMGFAN did to his stereo
