Distronic not Available
Hey guys,
I have Distronic on my CLS55 with the Brabus Rocket grill. (It doesnt have the glass protector over the sensor) The distronic normally works just fine, but when driving on long trips, especially at night & after an hour or so of driving, i get a message saying distronic not available, and the cruise control shuts off. After about 30 minutes of driving with the petal, i get a message saying distronic available, reactivate, and everything is fine for another 30-60 minutes.
Right before it cuts out, everything seems to be fine with the system. I'm not getting any false warnings or braking, and it will even cut out even when there is no one around me.
Additionally if i pull over, turn the car off, and back on it will work as normal for another 30-60 minutes. Is there any way i can reset/reactivate the distronic system while on the road so i don't have to pull over and turn the car on and off or wait for it to decide to start working again? Is there any way to use normal cruise control when this happens so i don't have to manually pedal it?

Could this be some kind of safety thing so you don't zone out with the car seemingly driving itself? I haven't had my distronic on for more then maybe 20 min so can't say for sure what mine would do.
What year are your cars that are experiencing this? Seems 2 05's so far. What about you fasttommy?

It would be absolutely retarted to randomly turn off cruise control as a "safety feature" and not have the ability to turn it back on. Some times it will last an hour other times 2 hours before shutting off... It also happens way more at night then day. But if it is a "feature", then perhaps it can be disabled by star or something...
