I got a call from MB dealer and he said I needed to replace my engine mounts. He called Mercury Premium to get approval to do the work and they said they wanted to send an adjuster to examine the mounts. Sounds like I am about to get screwed. MB service said they have never had an adjuster review work before. I wonder if it's because I am coming up to the end of my five year coverage period and they are going to argue I can get another six months, which will put me beyond the expiration date of the extended warranty. Anyone else have a problem like this?

I don't think it's that unusual for adjusters to come out to examine cars with claims... Pretty sure that my warranty company (NAC) sends someone out every time, even for relatively minor stuff.
It possible that they contract with local adjusters so it's really not that hard to have coverage almost anywhere in the US when a call comes in for repairs. I'd be curious to hear more details about how this process actually works though...

+4 it is not that unusual. I have had adjusters come out a couple of times. They come out above certain dollar amounts, I think. I have gotten the work approved every time so far.

Just had all three mounts replaced last Friday via my NAC Aftermarket warranty and they didn't send an adjuster out, but they did negotiate the labor rate with the dealership. When I had my tank and keyless entry (door handle) replaced, they sent an adjuster. Pretty normal.
