Something wrong with your caps lock?

I all seriousness, almost 100k miles with no idea who drove it or how, there are a lot of question marks and you'd better have money set aside for the inevitable issues.

Sure you can get one with less miles, but what does that really mean ???

If the car has been well cared for that is the most important factor. Look at the service records and the condition of the car, if those items check out, get a PPI and have the compression checked.

Getting a ~$90K car for $21K that won't depreciate much more seems like a smart decision to me (as long as you can afford unexpected maintenance items)....

I paid $22k for my 2005 with 118k on it in Jan. Fully loaded plus all kinds of $$$ goodies on it already, like Renntech CF airbox, 178 pulley, real CF interior and more. The best part is its white/pano/black with merlot designo, aka a unicorn!

A few problems have a rose but nothing too huge in my book. I did have the tranny front pump spin the bearing, a semi common problem. And last week the balancer on my crank pulley went out. Yes the tranny fix was $2k and the pulley is going to cost me $1k or so but I knew going into it I might run into a few problems.

This place is a joke.
Sounds high, something closer to $17k with that mileage...And maybe less depending on condition, maintenance history, tire and brake condition, etc...Just bought mine with 98k miles, super clean, highway driven (for real) and full verified dealer maintenance since new...And I paid even less than I'm telling you. Realize an AMG with that kind of mileage is a hard sell, and the price should reflect that.

Good luck finding a clean 05/06 e55 for $17K....Sure you might be able to get a wrecked 05 / 06 or an 03' with issues for $17k....

If the car is really clean and well maintained, that is a fair price.

My neighbor sold a very basic, well cared for 05 e55, for $24K with 98K miles and it needed some TLC (tires, car dings, interior scratches, etc.) - all normal for a car with mileage....

Guess I was lucky Well, actually I was.....found the deal of a lifetime...but if you are patient the deals are out there. Saw another 89k E55, think it was a 2004 sell locally (through ebay) for 15-16k...a few months back. But, I am in Florida and guessing prices here are a bit lower than say, NY or Cali....E55's around here with that type of mileage sit for months at anything over $20k...

If I was looking at higher mileage E55's I would definitely give this one a look. https://mbworld.org/forums/mercedes-...-2004-e55.html

I've been trying to figure out how to come up with an extra $18k so I could have one to pamper and one to modify heavily and run hard.

That's a great example of the deals that can be had for $18k, a clean car with some nice performance mods...

This is perfect example of what im looking for... Only problem is ive never did a long distance deal before.. Im all the way in brooklyn ny... Ill call the number, see what can be done

I apreciate everyones opinions and thoughts... The mileage isnt my main concern.. It was the price... Just making sure i wasnt over paying...

At the end of the day id rather a fully loaded e55 with high mileage.. Than a e55 with less options and lower mileage...i take care of all my cars and i dont put much mileage on them.. Looking up at my roof and seeing pano, makes me happier than seeing low miles on my dash board... The e55 with 63k is something ill be looking at.. Other than that, for the price, much others dont compare

I all ready have a e46 m3... I bought it 1 1/2 years ago with 99,600k now it has 104,400... That is going to be my car for power mods... The e55 i want to keep it mechanically stock besides an exhaust..So power goodies dont interest me

I think most people here will tell you that's a little backwards. The E55 has to be one of the easiest cars to make big power out of for cheap. For what you would spend making that M3 fast, you could spend a quarter of it and make the E55 faster.

Well the fact being that ive already spent 10,000 under the hood of my m3 i have no choice... Besides its more of the experience while driving for me... 6 speed, high reving, handling etc... The m3 suits my needs... Im looking for something to replace my jeep srt8 and the e55 is that. Auto, beasty, 4 doors, air suspension, etc...

07' SL65, 04' E55, 03' Evo8, 08' GSXR, DSM's...
IMO, if the car was taken care of (stayed on top of the maintenance), and regularly driven, it should be a fairly reliable car. I wouldn't buy a "higher mileage" one unless it had a full maintenance history report, etc. Good luck.

The 05 with 96K miles for $21k is a good deal. Don't let the others scare you. If you can do some wrenching yourself, most things can be taken care of easily and will save you a ton of money.

Sold - 05' E55
Let us know what you decide?
When I was looking for an E55 I let the car speak for itself, meaning if it looked like crap it means it wasn't taken care of both cosmetically and mechanically.
I wanted lower milage, and options, so I shopped and shopped.

And I would have put the $10K of Mods into the E55 before the M3, but thats me.

Good luck

Don't have to tell me man I used to drive an M5 and the only thing it was missing is torque.

I say the same thing... And the 95k does speak for itself... Had it been black i would have been all over it... But because its gray... Im second guessing it... Ill give it a little more thought... In the mean ill keep looking... 05/06... Pano roof, cooled seats, and keyless go is mainly what im looking for.. black preferred

I don't recommend Pano-roof because i have it. I feel my car get really hot compare to my ex-E500 without Pano. And Pano weights extra 80Lbs and not so reliable. Take your time to shop and find the right one unless you decide to repaint the car in the future.

Through my research i have learned that you will almost never find a e55 with every option black on black for under 23k

Pano roof
Cooled seats
Keyless go
Rear park sensors

Looking back at for sale threads dating all the way to november of last year.. Guess ill be getting a paint job, especially since im putting all e63 parts on

A dealer found one in an auctionbor me with 80k and a mercedes dealer out bidded him and payed 24,000 for it... Said he will go and sell back for 29k
