E55 AMG - Track Day Preparation (things to consider)

Hey guys,

I did a search but couldn't find what I was looking for so may as well ask here and hopefully it helps others out too.

I've got an E55 AMG 2004 and there is an open (track day) in about a week's time... my question is; what expenses/precautionary measures should I take whilst going out on the track for the first time with the E55? Obviously check the brake pads, oil levels, enough gas and tyres are matching/have enough tread, but is there anything else you experienced weekend racers would recommend checking/planned expenses for after the session? or would 5-8 laps be relatively fine for its first time out on the track? (mileage is 107,000 kms by the way, or 66,500 miles - if that makes a significant difference).

Any help would be appreciated!

Cheers

Remove the front wheel arch liners and fog lights, you want as much air flow across your front disks as possible.

Grantwood tracks his. Maybe he'll chime in. Make sure your fluids are up to date, especially brake fluid. Other than that. Heat is your enemy. Keep her cool and you'll love it.

Me and my buddy took our cars out to a open track day and his biggest issue on the E55 was brake temperaturers. Kept getting red warnings on the dash after a few hard laps. I'd put in some aftermarket or at the minimum fresh brake fluid before doing a track day. Check all your other fluids and you should be good to go. Have fun

I have not tracked my e55 but I track my A4 regularly. I bring a full array of tools/jack/jack stands/extra brake pads/every kind of extra fluid/tire pressure gauge/ zipties/ duck tape/ blue tape for numbers on the car if the group requires numbers. Very important! Bring a torque wrench for the lug nuts and check before every session, seen to many people check them in the morning and in the afternoon have loose lugs and almost disaster. If you don't have a torque wrench then make friends with someone who does Lots of water and snacks. chair/shade. And if you have one bring a GoPro, it's always fun to watch after the fact Most of all just have fun!
