Repaint hurt resale value??
Whats your guys' take on a car that has been repainted a different color other then the cars original factory color? It wasnt in an accident the current owner just wanted a different color.
So would this possibly hurt the value of the car even tho the paint is brand new after 7 years.. so a 7 year old car with brand new paint but just not the factory original color. This is assuming it was professionally done of high quality.

Engine bay, trunk, jambs are often not painted, thus lowering value, plus you never know about the quality of work, and bottom line, most professional paint shops just don't care enough to give it their best, so you have to contend with lazy workmanship on top of it. Stay clear unless it is going to be a track car or the price is so low that you cannot pass it up and you have extra funds for paint repair should something start peeling.

Everything has been painted white except 3 spots in engine bay. The black roof is actually paint and not vinyl.

Color changed cars are worth less to some, and worth more to someone else that likes the color as long as the work is quality. People who like cars the original color tend to try and convince you that their opinion is the only opinion of consequence, and that the car is worth less to everyone once it has non factory paint on it.

In general it hurts resale a few thousand unless you find someone that really likes what you did but that's hard. Def does not add value unless its something like crazy ghost stuff being added and that's still questionable, just less so.
Have a good body shop look it over before you buy if you do. They'll show you where the other shop took shortcuts. Bet there's a LOT that you'd never think of.

You will NEVER see a paint job like the quality of the original especially when it's an AMG. Unless you wanna pay $20,000 for a high tech sprayer with oven and static charged primer then forget it. Even then the whole car would need to be stripped including the wiring and the engine and just about everything. People would be suspicious as to why it was painted, maybe an accident caused it at least to them.
I say research into GLOSS wraps. You can get your car wrapped pretty cheap, it protects the paint and is removable. Hell if there were real gloss PlastiDips it wouldn't even be up for debate but PlastiDip just can't product gloss like original paint. I'm seen gloss wraps though. The engine bay and chassis will still be the original colour but when you're driving it those parts are hidden.
Good luck

I'm with black06 on this one... I looked for several months before I found exactly the color, options and completely stock condition car I was looking for. Good things come to those who wait!
