What do you guys think of these wheels

Been looking for some new wheels for my 03 E55. I want to stick with 19's as I'm not willing to sacrifice that much sidewall to put on 20's. There is this set of MRR GT1's on ebay that have the look i've been looking for and the price is right compared to some higher end wheels i have looked at. I really like the black faces and polished lips on my silver car. What do you guys think about the offset's, they are +35 all around with a width of 8.5 in the front and 9.5 in the rear. Do you think they will fit? Also how's the quality of MRR's? I know there has to be some sacrifice compared to something like an HRE which are at least 4X as much but are HRE's really 4X better quality? Thanks and here's the link to take a look at them http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-MRR-GT1-...7bf47c&vxp=mtr

Those look OK, but personally, I feel like the Mesh / Big lip is starting to look dated. I am actually looking for new wheels as well. Just tired of the 3 Piece - big lip look.

I am looking at the Vossen Concave wheels (CV3 to be exact). A little more money than what you are looking at for the MMR, but WAY more 2012- and very reasonable!

How would this look on your ride?? CONCAVE is just the S^&%T In person, it looks so damn nice

How much for your wheels

I like mine, but think 18"s are a tad bit smaller than I would want. Would be good at 19".

Yeah, I like the concave look as well, can they do a two tone color scheme on them? IE the polished lip with black face? BTW what brand are the ones currently on your's, what size are they, I like them and would consider buying them from you if you decide to pick up the Vossens

The vossen's look pretty sweet... have you considered HREs or BBS? I think the BBS CH would look the business.

I had HRE's - (New: $5800 set) AYFKM????

The BBS CH are cheaper, but again, looking old at this point. Craig's wheels look the ****, but he already sold them!!! I would opt for the CV2 before the BBS- I know Craig was hounded when he first put them on

Maybe I drank the koolaid, but Concave is

I would love this exact wheel in 19s, nobody wants to make 19s anymore.

If your looking for forged product, you will be paying more for it. We might have something more budget friendly coming from HRE near SEMA time. Keep an eye out. I also believe you get what you pay for. Sometimes it's all hidden in the details. Product, customer service, reliability, peace of mind, etc.

I'll leave you with this E55 on P40SC

I've always loved HRE wheels, owned one set, but it's hard to justify $500-$1000 per wheel for me anymore. I currently run CLS55 19s (OEM not rep), but have been looking for a wheel to replace them. I can't find something that has the look/finish/quality/price I'm looking for. Always missing something. Ugh

P40SC - $7020 / set.... (19")

(I believe that is Mark's car, and I know he can afford HREs.......)

I agree in part that from an initial quality standpoint "you get what you pay for" typically stands true.

My HRE's lasted just about a month before two barrels had to be replaced, and another month before I took them off and sold them. That is NOT a testament to HRE quality, more to the road conditions a daily driver is subjected to.

Garage queen, Show car, or an abundance of money you don't know what to do with? -> HRE is a great choice.

I have found monoblock wheels to be much more forgiving when it comes to bents / cracks.

I'm sure the $8K rotors are "the best", but complete overkill and beyond the price point for this market. I think HRE falls into that same category.

I will however get a set as soon as my new Lambo gets delivered. - For the beater, I will be a little more thrifty, and have confidence that my choice will be satisfactory. -

The HRE's shown are certainly nice, but in my opinion: dated. HOWEVER: I suspect we will see some much more aggressive concave designs coming out of Carlsbad soon... Just lagging behind some of the more creative design engineers. IMHO

All this car talk is stupid anyway, that dog is fricking CUTE!!!!

Monobloc is the way to go. I am rolling HRE R40 on my car, daily, for 18 months now, around San Diego, not a single issue. Oh, and I did not pay anywhere the kind of money shown in this thread, even with my fancy face brushed, powered coated windows finish.

I personally find the concave look to be already overplayed, and, ahem, a bit douchy, nothing beat a old school, proper split spoke design! But again I'm driving a debadged station wagon, so...

Funny...I was thinking the same about Concave wheels!

Agreed..101% or even a simple 5 spoke with a nice lip that might contrast tastefully with the color of the car.

What did you pay for the R40's?

Current price online is $1170 each.

Again, there is a market for these or HRE would not be making them, but the 211 crowd is (usually) looking for a more economical option, as evidenced by the original post (Set of wheels for $999 - Ebay).. This is not HRE's target customer.

So I was offering my opinion, on wheels I though might fit his budget. Thats all. Ill keep my eye out for you! SD Wagon face

don't get MRR's HR1. for some reason they look ridiculously cheap. looks cheap just like axis penta. if you're interested in mesh, i'd at least go for Breyton Spirit (much cleaner design and better build quality). if you can afford more, i'd go for forged-1 seven mesh
