Hey! Welcome! Super nice ride and it seems like an awesome price. Cool that it already has some nice mods. I too came over from VW, had a VR6 Passat. Love the E55 a lot more :p

thanks for all of the welcome everybody, such a nice group of guys. just left a small car show (mostly vw/audi) in Milford, NH, and the e55 was a hit. everyone was talking about it. i was wandering around through the crowds of people hearing things like "see that amg, things to0o0o baller. doesn't even fit in here." haha. it was a nice feeling.
i love the car though. i get compliments on it everywhere i go, and its only been a week.
And yeah, i need to do something about those air intakes. id like to get something that draws a suction through those holes on either side of the radiator, but he cut the engine cover plastic to make these fit. not sure what to do there.
car seems solid. Ive been doing my research on here as far as all the fluid changes go. I've always been a big diy'er, I've done over $10,000 of work to the R myself, and thats only parts cost. few things i can't do though. the dude threw in a set of BNIB eurocharged headers, and i can't weld. I'm gonna need a hand with those. I'm in no rush though. its got plenty of power for me. I'm super happy with it just the way it is.
maybe ill get a set of 20" flat anthracite CV3's sometime down the road... :p

vmr, raderwerks, eurotek, avante garde... they all make a 710-type wheel. they all order them from the same wheel factory, wherever it is, and put they're center caps on. i had the machine face/gunmetal pocket ones on my R for a while.

in the Portsmouth, NH/Kittery, ME area.
Thanks. i loved it. i had it for 3 years and did SO much work to it. it was a lot of fun.
very different from the mercedes though. whenever someone asks me about the e55, i tell them its a lot of fun. and scary fast. but so plush and over-the-top luxurious.
but the R, was just fun. but fun in a different way. it was obnoxiously loud, and peppy. it looks more childish and fun, more of a toy than a fast car. it was fun to put obnoxious stickers on the back, and obnoxious lights on top. it was just a fun car.
also, on another note:
picked up a laser interceptor today. I've heard nothing but good things. but I'm curious what you guys think. also wondering about install/mounting. The receivers and the switch inside. search, here i come.

so.
i hit an elderly british couple touring america, that have been driving in america for a whole THREE blocks. they got a yellow light when they were pretty much att he white line and slammed on their brakes, and i couldnt avoid them.
well heres the issue. the insurance company is trying to say my car isnt worth dcik squat.
is there anyway i could get other peoples' (you guys) values? as in, what you paid for your car if theyre comparable in miles with mine? i had 48,000 miles at the time of the accident.
not quite sure how to go about this. but. any help would be appreciated.
maybe there are any lawyers on the forum? wanna throw your lawyer-y-ness at my insurance guy for me? ive never been in an accident, never had a lawyer... Not really sure how this works.

Big bummer...your insurance company will just give you blue book + mods if they total it...my guess is they will fix it...get a new e63 front bumper
