Fiber Optic Connector

Thanks for the reply. Here's a stupid question (I really don't want to damage anything). It looks like there is a slot in the connector for a flat head screwdriver to pry it open. Is that the correct way to open it?

I know this is an old thread but I am going to try and install the factory sat setup on my 2006 with no prewire. If anyone still has the factory install instructions available, I would HUGELY appreciate it.

Can’t help you with the installation but just have a little input on sound quality. I would recommend going Bluetooth and using the SIRIUSXM app, sound quality when set to maximum is much better than the installed system. Plus, you won’t get disconnected when you drive through tunnels.

2013 E63 Performance Package
I looked everywhere for the directions last night, but couldn't find them. I'm guessing they are on a very old computer. I will look through some old hard drives to see what I can find. I like it built-in, compared to any other installation method. If you call the dealer, they may be able to help you. The unit is called a SDAR.

2005 E320
I am interested in installing a used SDAR in my prewired 05 E320. My question is if there is any way to tap in to the factory GPS / TeleAid antenna on the roof rather than installing another antenna. ECS Tuning sells a splitter that says it's for the SDAR - https://www.ecstuning.com/b-genuine-...tter/67830058/

Could this possibly work to do what I am trying to do? Thanks!

2005 E320
Finally getting around to doing the SDARS install. Found this SDARS kit, wondering what all comes with it. Can anyone verify that this is what I need, or should I just get a used 2118706790 SDARS from eBay and use an aftermarket antenna?

Part number is

E320 CDI
Hi, guys. I'm working on adding satellite to me '05 E320 CDI. I have opened everything up, but I don't see any YELLOW fiber-optic cables in the trunk. I've got the plug for the SDAR at the passenger wheel well, but it seems I don't have any way to swap those cables so they talk to my command system. Any help is appreciated. I can try to post pics tomorrow in case I'm just totally missing something.

I did one on my 2006 and had to make a power harness, but the 2005 is supposed to be pre-wired.
