Replacing O2 sensors

Hello all,

Recently I have been having recurrent issues with p0135 code popping up. My OBDII scanner is signaling a faulty Bank 1 O2 sensor which I believe is on the left front sensor. I'm thinking about trying to tackle this one myself, but if it seems to difficult or laborious I may drop it off at the dealer for a warranty repair.

Anyone have any helpful diagrams or DIYs out there on sensor replacements? And yes I did search......

Thanks in advance
Courtney

It should say Sensor 1 or Sensor 2 as well and Bank 1 or Bank 2.

Sensor 1 is the one before the catalytic converter closer to the engine, and Sensor 2 is after the catalytic converter.

Bank 1 is the passenger* side. (Edited this to correct it)

They should all be pretty straight forward to replace but you're gonna need the car on jack stands or a lift.

W203 slightly modified
I highly recommend you purchase the tool attachment to your ratchet which helps remove the sensor. Its cheap and it makes the job much easier.

Bank 1 is actually the passenger side. Just find out if it is the Sensor 1 (pre-cat) or Sensor 2 (post cat). Replacement is easy. Make sure you use some anti seize compound on the thread IF the new sensor does not already have it.

Bank 1 is passenger side.

As stated, you need to know if O2 #1 (Upstream) or O2 #2 (Downstream)
