Ouch! Sorry to see that, but congrats on the new car.

Anyone remember that thread a long time ago saying there was some kind of suspension blocks that can be bought to keep the car from dropping like that if the airmatic stuff fails? We need to find the source for those.

Good luck getting it fixed.

Welcome, nice ride!

That's crazy about your right strut going out as the same thing happened to me just this past weekend leaving me my wife and my mother in law stranded at a hotel for a couple days 200 miles from home lol.

At last!

I also started to play and learn about the car:

If you noticed, I think I have the less option one. Also the steering wheel do not have the gear selector buttons on back.

I have the leather/wood syteering instead! That was an option for 2005?

Replace those lug bolts!! Nice car...

Is it me, or is the Kompressor lettering on the fender not straight?

Yep, those lugs are horrible! The original owner barely use the car from 2009 to 2012. He just keep the car in top shape. The weird lettering is the pic angle. I also check the badge against another kompressor because the same.

About the wheel, I think is part of the GRAPHITE EDITION DESIGNO (option 235)
-graphite Nappa leather w/charcoal stitching
-metal AMG plate on front seatbacks
-brown poplar wood trim
-charcoal velour floor mats w/leather border & metal designo plate
-charcoal leather steering wheel/shift knob
-Alcantara roof liner

If the steering wheel doesn't have the buttons in the back it's because it was meant for the lesser E-class ( E320 for example ) as all E55 ( all that I have seen ) have the buttons on the back. Seems like someone swapped it out. Also, you car has push button start...it has more options than mine does that's for sure...lol.

Exacly. The only weird thing is the steering wheel. But match perfectly with all the trim.

I think your trim may be aftermarket?? Here is my Designo, notice no trim around the climate control:

I have the trim around climate control and all AC vents. Also all the other stuff on option 235. Also the option is detailed in the car card (Germany). And is true, everything can be installed aftermarket. The only one difficult or extremelly expensive is the alcantara roof. Option 235 includes all; roof, pillars, sunvisors, sunroof in alcantara. I love it.

So that trim is supposed to be there? I figured it was aftermarket as the buttons on the back of the wheel are standard.

Did that failed airmatic hurt your fender?

That's is why the steering wheel is weird lol!
And yes. The airmatic bend about 1 inch inside the fender. Was really the fender liner. Was driving the car 10 meters while waiting the towing.

I have yet to see an E55 without an alcantara roof, I know mine has it and mine is a near zero option E55.

As for the trim on the vents, I've never seen this...not even on the designo packages that have freaking awesome seats...lol. They seem aftermarket.
