Wow, sorry that happened. Arnott carries reliable OEM replacements with a lifetime warranty. Did you get an extended warranty on the car? If you didn't, it's probably not too late. Most aftermarket warranties will still cover you up to 60 day after purchase date.
On a side note, if you need a stock airmatic system, I'm selling mine.

 

Welcome, finally someone from PR on this board. Sucks what happened, I hope it doesn't discourage you though. Hope the dealer pays for it as well, they have to as per PR law. Looks like the tire hit the fender as well...ouch.

Anyways, I hope you get her back asap and start destroying the non-believers.

 

Yes, the F wheel hit the fender. Tomorrow the car will be towed to the dealer. As GT-ER said, lemon law covers used car here as well.

Moose, I'm Puerto Rico (PR),due to the mileage; the dealer provides warranty for 3months/3k miles.

 

Dealers are required by law to offer warranty on used vehicles. The amount of warranty will depend on mileage/age. What is covered is also limited but I'm pretty sure an airmatic failure will qualify.

 

That's a beautiful car and I hope the dealer takes care of the airmatic failure in a timely manner. Have you filled up the gas tank? If you do, and you smell gas a little bit later, please be careful as the fuel pump may be leaking.

 

Filled 3/4 ($50)... At least no gas smell. Also I noticed the AC condensation is a lot. Well the rear AC just blow heat. GR-ER already told me about the changeover valve DIY!

 

Mine has the fuel smell but only if I fill it to the point where the pump stops. Anything under that and it won't smell.

 

Then do you recommends a full tank just in case?

Now im wondering if spend money on shock/spring suspension or not. In reality I still love the airmatic!

Also dont know if carfax can show something, not used a lot in PR.

 

Carfax gave me a lot of info on my car, which actually surprised me. Also with my wifes ML350. Apparently it's used more than you think.

As for the suspension, I had the same dilemma. When my rear airsprings went out I thought about going to regular springs but I love airmatic too much ( and I used to be an airmatic hater ). My car is lowered and the roads down here are horrid...airmatic was built for PR....lol.

Car is at the dealer right now. They are looking if there are any warranty left with MB. I know there is not cause the ext. warranty finished on 2011. Just break pump and airbags still on warranty until 2014. They will fix it. They already told me. The issue is when!
For those who ask about the black front:



I will eliminate the black trim on the headlight. Looks horrible. A $100K+ car with ebay cheap stuff sux!

Good to hear on the headlight trim. I think the oem grill looks better as well but that's up to you obviously. Other than that, it's a sweet looking E55, gotta love black.

 

The carfax shows up to 2009. I know the owner dont use it a lot. Obiously gas price sux too. I think the headlight trim was applied with 3M. Goo Gone can be used?

Dont want to F up the headlights!

 

Hmmm...depends how long they've been there. Lift a small portion to see how the glue is. Goo Gone shouldn't be a problem.

 

The airmatic needs to be replace in pairs? Or there are independent (performance wise)?
