Making a carbon fibre engine bay tank

Have decided to make my own tank for my chiller and split water system . My car is RHD and is on the opersit side so have decided to make my own .going to make it in carbon fibre using the vacuum infushion method . First job is to make a wood replica to use to make the mould . Making this out of ply wood , then fill and sand it , seal it with sanding sealer and paint it . When I have it painted will then use it to make a two part mould , first stage is well under way .

Next part is the back of the tank , then cut it down to size hight wise . Tank size will I think finish at aprox 11''x11" x 51/2 " so around 3 us gallons

Thanks Shardul , making the buck is the easy part , do to my health I spend a day tinkering and then a day resting . Will hopefully get the buck ready for casting the mould finished on Thursday . it's been quite a while since I did any carbon fibre laminating and mould making but I'm enjoying getting back into the old skills . Next job is brake shields for the new brakes

The buck or plug to cast the mould for the carbon fibre is nearly done , made a few desighn alterations and will up load pics when I get home , water capacity of the tank is 2.8 us gallons .
Are you guys interested in the mould making process and the carbon laying and resin infushion process ?
If so will do a full detailed thread on the build .

/\ I am interested in the carbon laying and resin process. Would love to do my own CF parts.
