Sounds like they got over easy. You should've made them prove those larger diameter wheels caused the failure. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magnuso...s_Warranty_ActOriginally Posted by jamusa

I came out of pocket $3100 for the warranty initially and have outlayed another $700 for deductible and labor rates/parts not totally covered.
So $3800 for me versus $6000+ in repairs in year 1.
Totally worth it in my case and i have another 35,000 miles and 3+ years to go on the warranty. (majority of that 6000+ was from K1 clutch pack failure. a legit parts failure and resulting transmission work.. other things were motor mounts, head gasket, front control arms).
I drive the car as hard as like and know if anything goes wrong, it gets fixed.. minor issues to my local indie, major issues to the dealer. If i could fix these things myself i might think differently but i beleive most everyone on here telling you its not neccessary is probably doing the work themselves or has someone they know who takes care of them. Mine is a different perspective.

I'd say most people here don't have warranty. Warranty or a god indie shop repair is the same thing on these cars. You pay up front or as you go.

I just bought an 07 e63 less than a month ago with 70k miles, i was thinking about a warranty, but i'm like most of you and do a lot of the stuff myself, so pay me now or pay me later, My other car is a bmw x5 4.8is and I don't have any warranty on that either so i am leaning towards not getting it. Now if your concerned about the warranty cost, My girlfriend works at a credit union and i can get through her 3 year 36k warranty for 2800.00 the platinum plan that pretty much covers everything besides normal stuff that isn't normally covered. You may want to check with your local credit unions for a pretty good deal on a warranty....
