Removing fuse box or large grommet thru firewall

I am trying to run two large laser interceptor connectors through the firewall and do not see any easy to access, large grommets. With the drivers side footwell cover off, I can see a large hole with wires coming from the fuse box. When I look at the fuse box though, I cannot tell how it comes out.

Is there an easy way to remove the fuse box, so I can access the loom and add two more wires ?

Is there a better way to run two cables (with large connectors) through the firewall ?

You can remove the screws holding the fuse bow and move it out off the way to access the grommet, I think the ECU and the ESL have to be unplugged to do that.

Thanks Shardul...Man there is so little space in the engine bay - it makes a simple task hard....Still unable to get fuse box out, but I did find another grommet I am going to try first ....

There is also a grommet under the cabin filter that I have primarily used. If you take the cabin filter off its closer to the intersection of the apron and firewall.

+1

I used a glow rod to fish a bundle of wires for my dashdaq through that spot.

I can't find this grommet you are talking about under the cabin filter. I have taken the cover off but can't find a way to get wires inside the cabin.
Can someone please post a picture or describe it better?

Trying to install the Blinder in the glove box.

Thanks,

Down on the left hand side (IIRC)...I did not use this grommet (used the one behind the fuse box) as I mounted my lidar device under the drivers side dash....

E55
found it.
it's directly below the cabin filter, about 6 inches down, towards the fender.
It's a rubber seal about 3" in diameter, shaped like a bell.
i just punctured it and pushed the wires in. Very easy.

Thanks.

Anyone know if the SL has the same firewall access too?
