Airmatic Malfunction Warning & Superstitions

I've only had my E63 for 3 weeks and the last thing I want to see is a malfunction warning of any kind. Got one this morning with airmatic. Arrow up, "malfunction", no "visit workshop", which is fine.

Car rests level, even after a couple of hours in work parking lot. Height not compromised. Raises/lowers normally.

The superstitious part of me comes into HOW I started the car this morning vs. every other morning. I relate this back to an athletics career or owning a Porsche when anythign I did differently, stupidly led me to question things, ha.

I open door, sat in car, with door open, turned car on, kept door open to clean my rims with annoying stock pads that dust every 2 hours. I get back in 2 minutes later, drive 2 mins, malfunction appears.

Taking the car to Benz Works in Huntington Beach on Friday to diagnose with STAR, while I get a new CF Godhand lip & clears put on.

Worst case? Best case?

Thanks guys

Airmatic pump seems to be going bad. Costs about 300.

Crazy that timing of this for people. Heard about cars less than a year, to those into 80K miles having the issue. I just hit 39K miles, boo.

Air leak in fold of either front strut or rear air spring. Possibly leaking at surge tank in right side of trunk. Compressor is ok because it keeps car up with small leak. You will burn out the compressor if it runs too long with too large a leak.

Not trying to hijack, but I just noticed my 05 55 front left is sitting 1/4" lower than the front right, going in on Monday to ACG..

Will let you know tomorrow. Didn't get a malfunction message on drive home last night, but got one this morning again. Two mornings in a row.

Compressor was shot. Hose melted inside, wasn't dire but glad I got that out of the way. Big ups to Serge & Nick at BenzWerks. Will gladly make that 40 mile drive in future.

Godhand front lip and clears also installed, waiting a second before I throw the rear diffuser on. Road forced balanced today too, slight vibes gone. Long day

You'll love the car over the long term. Is yours lowered? I can't get over how good theses cars looks with the wheels perfectly in the arches.

It is lowered, looks just right. Took it for a Saturday night canyon run when I could open it up without wife nervous around every corner. Damn, the car scared me, which means I really need to spend more time with it to "become one" with it.
