Fastest 1/4 times rolling on 20s?
I am about to get a set of 20s (currently have 19s) and was curious if anyone out there has ran at the track on their 20s or know of someone and what kind of times were produced?
Obviously this is not ideal (larger wheels cause more rotational mass away from the hub making more inertia to deal with) but has anyone actually ran fairly good times and speeds?
I will have 285/25/20 rears and 245/30/20 front tires.
I will be putting it to the test in a few weeks The rolling circumference of the tire is actually a few inches less than my currenty 275/35/19 rears so atleast that will be an improvement in gearing

I will give it my best shot! Hopefully it isn't blistering hot so I at least have a little help with a "cooler" day in Florida, hope it hits 70s! haha

I don't think the fronts will matter much at this level. I didn't run 20" wheels on my car because I just hate the way it ride, and the roads around here are horrible. But when I run 18" and 19" in the fronts I didn't see any different.

David,
Why not borrow/buy a drag set up for the rears when you hit the track? I’ve priced out some sets and they are very reasonable. Then you can roll with the 20’s for everyday use and not worry about losing time at the track.

Well luckily the roads in Florida are pretty nice everywhere so hopefully riding on a 25 series tire in the rear won't be to terribly bad.

I have looked a little in to getting something for the rear for any track time, just haven't went through with it yet. When I do run at the track next it will be during a car show, so really going more for the show so 20s will look better on the back than some 16s I may still get something whipped together before then though, who knows. Just can't decide if I want to do the 16" clk wheel thing with spacers and hoosiers like several run, or maybe some 17s or even 18s that will bolt right on with no spacers and some Mickey Thompsons for tires.

i see you are getting same size tires as mine. i havent tried 1/4 mile with them, but let me tell you the 55 still goes.
ive ec tune / k&n / meistershaft exhaust only .. nothing close to you and im sure you probally wont feel a difference going from 19s
my car rides great btw .. i was very worried before..(my old clk rides like **** on 19s). i guess as long as you get good tires it will be fine.

I guess my goal for Fixxfest is to run 11.99 Who knows though since last year it sucked and best I ran with the 19s was 12.4@114 from the heat and humidity wooping my tail and an ice skating rink starting line.

180 pulley, dual heat exchanger, and ec tune and rear tank.
The 60ft times could use a lot of improvement.
I was making a little less hp than you but i attribute that to the 20s
