SRS Malfunction moving seat back?

Got this error again on the screen after my friend moved the passenger seat all the way back (Me: "dude no dont move the seat baaacc.....*ding* SRS Malfunction) and then forward again.

I had this error before and when I went to the dealer to have them inspect my airmatic the SRS error went away. So I'm guessing one of the tech knew a common problem and took a peek under the seat and connected something back up? It seems every time the passenger seat is moved far back this error surfaces again...

Sounds like you have a wire getting pulled or pinched somewhere when the seat moves back. Peek under there and look for any wires that may be in the track or might move into the path of the track when it slides back. The passenger seat has a sensor to know if someone is sitting there so airbags deploy in an accident only if someone is sitting there. Guessing that's the wiring that's getting moved around and setting of the error. I wanna say the sensor is in the bottom of the seat only but not sure on that.

I got this error when I put the passenger seat all the way back to accommodate my CF lip.

Once I put the seat back to normal position the error went away, no more issues with or without passengers.
