It's Metallic Black, the real color. Costed me $600. I know you will say that I could've gotten ECU tuned but I do not need the extra hp in the winter. So after winter It'll be matte white and modified. Not as much as your car is but somewhat close

At the end of the day it's your car, do what you want with it! Bedazzle the whole exterior and put rainbow striped AMG logos on it, you're the one that ha to drive it

The only reason I don't like it is instead of looking like a flat black Lambo, it looks like it's been primered and is ready for paint.

I personally think the plastidip idea isn't bad for cars, but I really dislike what they call "matte black". It's essentially a matte dark gray. Cars that come from the factory in a matte black are much darker. If anything, I'd prefer the matte white. There's a member on here who dipped his CLS matte white and it came out really nice.

Okay that could be cause of the lighting condition and phone camera quality.

OUtside in natural light it looks like real matte black. I could've gotten the gloss finish on it but I chose not to cuz I wanted to try this look.

I can always rip it off, but since I paid $600 I'd wait until I have earned it's worth lol so until the end of winter atleast.

the sharper E63 front end would compliment matte black a lot better. i kindof like it, seeing it in person might change that in one way or the other!

you obviously have never heard of Plasti-dip Glossifier makes the matte black not look like **** on a nice car. i recommend you make your way to an Ace-Hardware and get a few cans maybe it will regain you a little respect

I won't be getting it dipped in white cuz if it rips from anywhere the black paint from underneath would be easily visible.

It was such a relief getting plasti dip on the car. Whole winter I had to get the car washed only like 4 times. If it were normal paint lol I'd have to get it washed once a week. This dip has lasted so well I could've never imagined that.

This is how Miss AMG currently looks after months of brutal snow storms and highway driving and salt and brushing snow off of her.

Didn't even get it re-finish even once. Before summer I will once.

Another member a while back wrapped his car in flat black and got a lot of compliments, whats the difference? Its not like this is permanent.

I do not mind you hating on my car but you have no clue of my financials or an idea regarding how much I paid for the car. So saying that I was only able to purchase this car cuz it does not have the same value anymore is pretty immature of you.

Respect is earned and it's not a right. So if you want "kids" to respect you I'd say, start by acting "Mature" and treading your words carefully in future.

I agree... there are too many snobby people on this forum that label things by the name. If he were to say it was vinyl wrapped or a custom $5000 paint job, people would be all over it; but because it's a cheaper alternative, everyone thinks it's trashy and dumb.

I'm personally not a fan of this color either, but I've had a friend dip his car in matte white and it looks very tasteful. I think if you do matte white and take the dip off of the chrome trim, the car would maintain a nice, classy look. There was a member that dipped his CLS matte white... check out the pic below:

What was the original color of his car ? damn! looks hot, I was planning to get white as well initially but Canadian winter is a no go cuz white needs to be maintained on a black car.

For sure. Plasti-dip is some good stuff. I always have a few cans and used it for sets of wheels I've had before and my winter setup. Glad to hear how it held up over the winter on the whole car. I think its a sick wintermode look.
