I picked up some 3.06's for my sled, cant wait to get it in there. Cant beat $100 shipped on the SRT8 ring and pinion gear either

Going onto the Chrysler 300C SRT8 forums or you can get a complete diff with the gear in it off ebay or knowing a couple folks

Will the whole unit work or just the gear?

Will the entire diff swap in? That would be easier.

The mounting points are different. I had to have custom mounts and modify an E55 rear cover to fit it to a clk but clk is different than e.

Still a hell of a deal if that is all you have to do, I am also finding out for you guys if the SRT8 diffs came with an LSD from the factory.

The m215 did not but the newer 226 did but will be even more difficult to fit but also allows for even shorter gears than the m215 options

With American sports cars this is one of the first modifications people do. Without much money you make your car much quicker without having to touch the engine. It's really a great modification.

Yip, just heard that the earlier SRT8's did not have LSD's in them, but the later year SRT8 Challangers do.

Ahmad, when you say fit you mean the housing right. I'm wondering if the LSD and gears are the same internally and would fit into our existing housings. From what I recall, the SRT's use the same Quaife as the Benz for example. Maybe I have my facts wrong but was wondering.

Yes i was just referring to installing the complete diff, housing and all. I would think the internals are the same but i haven't personally compared since my clk came with a smaller 210 diff. I had to respline my hubs as well for bigger axles but you guys don't have to worry about that

Chyrsler switched to using a Getrag differential that has a 226mm ring gear and comes with lsd. Nothing inside can be swapped. The housing is very different than the E class also. The E, CLS and Sl have a different housing than most other Mercedes. You guys will have to swap the gears out of the housing on the SRT-8 differential.

Nice Hopefully you see some gains. What's wrong with the 2-3 shift?Good luck at the track. I'm hoping the switch to 3.07 helps me some but i won't know until next year and will have a different setup then anyway

What size tire are you running and what are your 1-5 gear ratios? The diff you installed does not have the LSD in it?

What are your rpms at 70 mph now? Nice job on the gears and getting them lined out.

That would be the combo for me as well. I am half way there already

tires MT 26 x10.5-16 this is the dot slick (not radial)
the 1 - 5 gears I don't know it is a SL55 engine and transmission, because the srt6 and the sl55 both use 307 gear i had to change nothing. I also have a wavetrac in the 307 diff.
now with the Diff.(out of a limited crossfire) 327 gear, i have the tuned tcm & a wavetrac posi unit in the car.
the 2nd to 3rd shift is not as hard as i want it ,if fact it feels like it is slipping,,, but the log shows no rpm increase.

My 307 diff. went to untrax for R&D as my unit was used as a test unit and was the prototype for the wavetrac for the crossfire. jim

Why don't you come on down for this Sunday's track rental ,,streetcardrags.com

yes KC on it and NO,,,none, NO ,heat exchangers,,, i have 3 runs with the KC but not enough freon in the system to cool the IAT.s i had to use Ice,, then ran 11.22 @ 126 ,,when KC is installed you need to bring your low side of the AC to 38 to 40 the normal is 30 to 34... jim

Your car did well with iats with the 3 heat exchangers you ran before so it will be interesting to hear your thoughts on the killer chiller. Also can't wait to see what your gear change does.
