Jerry's a beast, Eurocharged is where it's at, and gear swaps are doable!

05 crossfire w/SL55 drivetrain installed by Rudy Compart Intake/Needswings best et-10.76 @ 129
First run i kinda took it easy, very little burnout,
I left the line at Idle.everything seemed to work good. I got an 036 light, a 1.83-- 60 foot, a 7.4 1/8 mile @ at 98.72 mph, ET 11.33 @ 125 mph// when I left the line my IAT's was 55°, when I got through the quarter IAT is 75°.
my Iat's stayed good all day at one point my Iat was 49°, when I got to the line they were 55, after the burn out.
My 2,3,4 and 5 Run, One of them was a .0 66 and one was a .0 67 ,, was 60 foot was .172 & 178
on th last four runs,( On ran 5 times) once I got into third gear the car went into limp mode, I even try to go slow one-time, it still went in the limp mode of those last four runs were 15.9 16.1 16.1 16.2,, too bad I wasn't running brackets LOL
I spoke to Jerry from euro charge, he wants me to send it back to him which I will do tomorrow morning. I guess I will provide 307 back in it until I get these bugs worked out. . So I guess my advice is hold off until all the bugs are worked out and then, go for it
this ratio change works best in mercedes, jerry has had noted the Mercedes car,, no forget my car is across fire with the Mercedes engine, and transmission and with the crossfire rearend, so hopefully Jerry can help me out, otherwise he said he would give me a full refund. But now that I know this change can be done, I will get it done one way or another. I left early,(wonder why?) rbj and jr were waiting on the trac clean up (someone crashed) they rbj & jr were going to run each other caint wait to here how they die jr ran a 10.4?? and was tring for that 10.3?? hope he got it. rbj was running low 11's don't know his best of the day. jim

Thanks Jim, couple questions:
1) Do you have any other slips you can provide that compares this gear swap to your old setup?
2) Did you cross the traps in 4th gear, and if so, what was your rpm in 4th?
3) I guess we cant compare IAT data going to a shorter gear, because you did have the killer chiller on there, but you said it did not operate correctly. Or did your runs start at similar IATs when you had the KC on there at your last track event?
4) What gear and rpm did you pass through the traps on your old setup, before going to a 3.23 gear?

[QUOTE=chawkins2001;5463426]Thanks Jim, couple questions:
1) Do you have any other slips you can provide that compares this gear swap to your old setup? No because i need a log to show rpm, I do have other slips showing almost the same times all the way RT,1/8, et and speed but without rpm it doesn't help much.
2) Did you cross the traps in 4th gear, and if so, what was your rpm in 4th?,, sorry did not log the first run as it was an easy run like a buy run.
3) I guess we cant compare IAT data going to a shorter gear, because you did have the killer chiller on there, but you said it did not operate correctly. Or did your runs start at similar IATs when you had the KC on there at your last track event? the KC did work great, I found you need to raise the low preasure side to about 38 to 40 psi freon psi.
4) What gear and rpm did you pass through the traps on your old setup, before going to a 3.23 gear? with the 307 gear ,,4 gear 4850rpm,172 IAT 186 water temp and 123 mph,, sorry i have no logs on the track with the 323 gear.

I'm surprised there's not more action in this thread. I'm in Colorado at altitude and I need all the advantages I can get - my best run (with 8300 DAs) yesterday was 13.494 @ 104.27. Granted, not optimal conditions by any stretch, but at 104 I have miles to go until the top of 3rd - would like to ultimately run gears that max around ~120 mph as that's about as fast as I will ever go while aiming to make 11.50 in the quarter at this altitude.
So if I'm understanding this correctly, with an E55 you can:
- swap to 3.06, 3.23, or 3.55 gears intended for the SRT products because they're the same diameter?
- Keep your existing diff housing and have the gears swapped in
- Also have the option to install/have installed a Quaife LSD ($800?) at the same time with these gears
- an ECU and TCU tune will be required
Any incorrect information above? Also noted that the later Chrysler Getrag diffs are a different diameter and won't work either for gears or the entire diff housing etc.
Thinking this would be a REALLY effective mod, particularly for drag racing...

Soooooo.... Does the Richmond 215mm 3.23 or 3.55 fit in these E differentials?
