Mods installed and tested...slight hiccup = rough SC clutch engagement?
I'm concerned that there's perhaps too big a gap between the pulley and the clutch plate.
It's around 1 mm, and on full throttle, the car pulls like a monster. So much difference from stock. But I've noticed when I accelerate slower...say, changing throttle from 10% power to say, 30% power, it feels like the car hiccups once then pulls. If I depress the pedal between shifts, the hiccup is much more masked, practically non-existent.
I'm thinking that perhaps there's too much of a gap between the two. Would that cause said hiccup? Throttle delivery seems smooth all the time. No particular RPM. Just from a slow increase from weak to heavier throttle.
If so, I'm guessing I should reduce the gap to .5 mm, right?

This place is a joke.
Mine does this, and my gap is set to factory specs, I ended up using no shims at all. I believe the problem lies in the tune, and hope to have the tune tweaked on Dec 1st from Eurocharged. My car will even buck and lurch if you hold the pedal steady when this happens.

Hmm...something to consider. I did notice it was doing the hiccup before the tune as well, though.
It sounds like the recommendation is to contact EC in the morning though, correct?

Yes, they may be able to modify the tune and reflash you. You mentioned it was doing this before, if I remember correctly a lot of E55's had this problem when they were new (2003) and I don't remember what the fix was, possibly a reflash from MBUSA at the time. Maybe the smaller pulley makes the problem worse.

Well then, guess I'll call first thing tomorrow. Suppose I'll wait on regapping then. On full throttle though...good lord that's some power for such a simple mod.

I had my car dyno tuned by Eurocharged on Saturday and I am happy to report that my hesitation/surge/bucking is completely gone. The car now drives amazing, smooth and instant power in all gears and throttle positions.

Mine still does it. I never cared though. When a 185 or bigger engages your gonna feel it anyway. You should see the look on my friends faces when we hit it. O.O

I too think its in the tune cause my pulley is installed to factory specs.
I haven't mentioned it to Eurocharged yet.
