foot on the brake, raise RPMs a little, let go of the break/roll into the throttle. you'll get it

you trying to drag race?
car in S mode, suspension on comfort, rear tire pressure dropped to at least 20-30PSI, traction control off, hold brake and gas up to about 2500RPM, let go of brake, dump right foot into gas, hold on to dear life.

+1 Also I was told by the other E55 guys when I went to my first drag race in sacramento to put it into Comfort and Raise the car up. This lets the car sag to the rear and put down weight on the back tires. This really helps with your launch as our cars have tons of torque and a WILDLY QUICK FIRST GEAR! I rewatched all my drag videos, and no body told me how much I was slipping and spinning the tires at launch. Inside I didn't even notice the spinning. Sitting there spinning tires creates a slower time. Hence the roll on the throttle and you should be good to go.
Once more thing, if you use S mode, make sure you put it into 1st gear even though it is already in first, it just helps to make sure it stays in first until near redline. Don't even shift it manually if you are in S mode, just leave it on the 1 and it will automatically upshift. Now Manual mode and Dyno mode are another whole animal I learned after a few track visits. The car just feels a lot more alive yet I was putting down slower times.

do you let that much air out on street tires? I thought i'd read in various posts that for regular street tires they work best pretty much properly inflated (40+) because of the stiffness of the sidewall

I tried this exact thing at my local drag strip and the car completely fell on its face shortly after launch...(like a limp mode no lights)..then proceeded to a 3.0sec 60' then came on and carried fine down the track.
I could not manage to get out of the 13's all night...no matter how I launched.
I typically drag race my truck, which is easy...hold brake, build 20psi of boost and launch.
Is there something in the stock TCM logic that sees a zero-mph condition with throttle input and thinks the TC is slipping and limps the car until it sees sufficient mph?
Just thinking out loud....Id love to get his car into the deep 12's. I know its there as in a heads up race with my mid-12sec truck, it pulls on me, but the MPH and ET at the track show a different story.

hope this helps a little. this is a video of some races i did last week. same technique mentioned previously, but i only brought my tires down to 34PSI which was ideal.
