September Motor Trend E55 vs RS 6
Motor Trend's choice is the RS 6 over the E55. MT felt the RS 6 is a more balanced package than the E55, however in the Second Opinion section both of the authors like the E55. Here are some performance numbers from the article:
E55: 0-60 4.2, 0-100 9.7, 1/4 mile 12.39 @ 116.21mph
RS 6: 0-60 4.3, 0-100 10.7, 1/4 mile 12.63 @ 108.64 mph
E55: 0-100-0 14.4, 60-0 118 ft, 600 ft slalom 66.5 mph
RS 6: 0-100-0 15.2, 60-0 113 ft, 600 ft slalom 67.8 mph
Motor Trend has the curb weight of the E55 at 3857lbs, much less than the other US mags. What gives?
Anyway, check it out guys.

Interesting that the one thing RS6 fans have touted all along as an advantage for the 4WD Audi is its slalom and cornering capacity.
Yet the E55 dusted the RS6 in the slalom (and every other speed test listed).
RS6 more "balanced"?
Yeah, right.
It's unappealing on the outside, outdated and dull on the inside, and looks like a $38,000 A6.
I sat in a brand new E55 today, and looked at a brand new RS6 a couple weeks ago.
For the life of me I can't imagine who would prefer the RS6 (which is more expensive as well).

Deep in my heart, I'm an Audi man,I like 4wd,I like their feel,I'm treated much better by them vs MB.
I could take RS6(had a choice of the first one coming),but could not ignore the overall advantage of E55(significant,even regardless of price).
I don't care what they say in car mags, they drive them for a few days tops,I get to drive it year round and in my book E55 is the best out there, notwithstanding my bad experience with MBUSA.(at least until new M5 shows up)
