e55 traction control?

having trouble tail whipping this thing smooth because once i step on it and get it spinning i let go some and feather the throttle but traction control still blinks and it feels like it doesnt let it keep spinning but cuts power and the whip looks ****ty because it catches the asphalt hard. Is there a way to completely turn the traction control off or is buying an LCD the only way to make it work well?

Do a search on here for DYNO mode, once you put the car into DYNO mode you turn off all the electronic nannies (I think even ABS) however be very careful!

Putting your car in dyno mode will also disable ABS, so beware!!!!

W211 E55 AMG DYNO MODE INSTRUCTIONS

1. MAKE SURE TEMP GAUGE IS SHOWING ON CLUSTER, IF NOT SELECT THE BUTTON ON THE LEFT OF THE STEERING WHEEL TO SCROLL TO THE TEMP GAUGE.
2. PUT YOUR KEY IN THE IGNITION, TURN IT ALL THE WAY OVER UNTIL ALL YOUR LIGHTS IN THE CLUSTER LIGHT UP , BUT DO NOT TURN THE CAR ON.
3. TURN THE KEY ALL THE WAY OFF, THEN BACK ON TO THE FIRST CLICK.
4. PRESS THE RESET KNOB 3 TIMES FAST IN THE UPPER LEFT OF THE GLASS INSTRUMENT CLUSTER.
5. USE YOUR UPPER ARROW ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE STEERING WHEEL AND PRESS IT UNTIL THE CLUSTER READS ESP DYNO METER TEST.
6. SELECT THE PLUS(+) BUTTON ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE STEERING WHEEL AND THE CLUSTER WILL HIGHLIGHT “ON”.
7. START THE CAR UP WITH THE KEY, AND YOU ARE NOW IN DYNO MODE.
8. THE CAR WILL REMAIN IN DYNO MODE PERMANENTLY EVEN IF YOU TURN IT OFF. CHANGE IT VIA THE SAME METHOD ABOVE BACK TO NORMAL MODE.

Happened with me too, other day I was going uphill on a icy road and I stopped for a pedestrian and damn! when I tried to step on it all I saw was the flashing exclamation mark and when I turned it off , the tires kept spinning and I went no where at all. I have brand new winter tires and still so had to reverse all the way back and then came back in little bit faster.

Traction is a curse and a boon at the same time lol

If you buy a big enough LCD like 70 or 80" it will help you slide as the weight of he tv will shift as you pitch it

Hahaha thanks guys! But to some, my view is " what's the point of having an e55 AMG and driving it like a grandma. I think my E55 would be dissapointed in me if I didn't "ride her" lol like she wants to be ridden ; )

I drive like this on a regular basis, as long as YOU can control yourself you'll be fine.

If you have an E63, TRY IT. Report back.

I myself tried this today and the car seemed to go into limp mode of sorts, took it back out and it was a war machine again.

Or were exaggerating a bit to try and let it sink in its really a handful and will bite you bad if you F up. There is a LOT of torque in these sleds and they get out of shape very quicklywithout the electronic nannies. Its not like your old 88 IROC Z with a lil extra power.

Whatever you do with your ride is up to you just be careful. The last time I saw a thread like this was from that kid in FL that had a M5 and he went out on a private runway serving it up and at some point lost control and ran off the runway at over 100mph and hit a tree about 200' from where it ran off and about 10-15' high up on the tree. Needless to say all 5 kids died.

Why is this so hard for you to figure out ...

Just turn off the traction control and you'll be able to kick the rear out as much as you want....As for dyno mode, do not do it as you will have no ABS....
