NOT a Happy New Year
First, I'm at DD and all of the sudden there's white smoke coming from under the hood. So I turned the car off and popped the hood. There was coolant everywhere. So I took it right down the street to Rage-Tek. I dropped the car off and told him to call me when he knows what's wrong.
So the next morning Rage-Tek calls and says its just a cracked hose no biggie, BUT I needed O2 sensors, trans is slipping, 2qts of oil, nail in rear tire, control arms and bushings. The passenger side rear tire moves about an inch and a half.
Nice! Now what?
Then I got another phone call.......
The police called me to inform me that they found my father in his appartment. He had died of a heart attack. They needed me to identify the body and remove all his personal things from the apartment. So I headed straight there.
Sorry guys! I guess I just need to let it out some how. This sucks!
Also a big thanks to some members here for helping me through this. Thanks David(urbanworm) for taking me to lunch right after I found out. Thank you to Gus83 for driving over half an hour to find me that night and and have a "few" drinks. And Hulk to checking on me the following day to see if I needed any help. Thanks a lot guys!

You will miss him, I know, and condolences over his passing. Your father is in a better place; now able to watch over those that he loved and that loved him.

My grandfather passed away Christmas Eve. It's tough, but realizing how fragile life is can be priceless. And remember, automobiles are always replaceable or repairable but memories are not. Those memories will carry you through these rough times. My prayers go out to you man.

E,
I am sorry for your loss. I also lost my father the week before Christmas. It has been a life changing experience. I pray that you and your family stay strong during this difficult time.

It was good to see you again shortly after you found out this happened. Figured it would be nice to spend some time keeping your mind off it for a little while and enjoy a nice lunch with you and your wife.
Hang in there!

I lost my Dad in April and I'm dealing with the "new normal" as a result of his loss. I've found what helps is sharing the good times with my kids especially knowing that he is no longer suffering through cancer. My condolences and if there is anything I can do to help ease the pain from across the country, I'm here.
