e55amgrocket,
As I have stated, I can work on a strait line 6, a 6.0L diesel, or whatever live throws at me. I am smart at figuring out "things".
I am, "was" (time is running out) asking what could and probably will go wrong with said AMG if I bought it.

V twin, as I has messed with My Ducati too for all that care. Seriously, looks like I am going to buy an E55 or a Porsche Cayman. Got 6-7 days to decide...

What price can you get it at? I think for 19k you would be ok. For the most part the engine/trans are built very well from what I've read. Especially if the car is stock. I just purchased one myself with 75000 miles. I'm prepared to replace things such as airmatic. And I will most likely invest on star diag. To make other possible repairs easier to figure out. Get the 55 there are a few people who hit 130k + miles. And haven't heard of anything catastrophic happen besides for normal bs repairs. Some being a bit pricey. But who cares if you can fix yourself and really like the car.

The e55 is a very different car than a Cayman....Not only can the e55 carry 4 adults with luggage easily, it is significantly faster on the street than a Cayman. The Cayman is very nicely built and has very good road feel, but IMHO needs a 3.8L TT
. If you were looking at a 911 TT, then I would say your decision would be based upon needing 4 doors or not....

yes i would only X shop a Cayman with a Z4 or a SLK. The cayman is the best handler tho but is the bread and butter model of the line. The E55 is the ultimate q ship. The only sedan thats faster is the newer tt models from AMG and the M Line. It looks like a sleeper but still turns heads. No one will notice you in a Cayman and they are still more expensive to mod and much more difficult to work on than the E55. Granted i think the Cayman will have less things to break on it, but doing work on any mid engine car is gong to be a pain in the ***.

Get the 55 and a PPI done and dont look back. Also remember, sometimes the cheaper you want to get something, the more its gonna cost you in the long run cuz you bought the cheapest possible car at the time thinking you were going to save a few $$.

Well, I'd like to give you a meaningful response but for that all you have to do is look above. A 55 will blow the doors off of a Cayman, unless you're driving through some mountain roads. I think the 55 would make a much better DD, plus Porsche's are gay

I am looking into an E55 or E63 myself and I have 2 words for u. AFTERMARKET WARRANTY. Search wisely, warranties r ur friend on these expensive cars, especially if u not as mechanically inclined.
