Check out E-bay---there are several illuminated door sills available for the S class and the W210 E Class--did not see any for W211---however, I would try the seller and see if they have a contact---the costs of the illuminated door sills being offered was much, much less.

I'm not sure whether or not most people here feel the need to have AMG rather than MERCEDES BENZ on the sill plates, but MERCEDES BENZ illuminated sills are listed as a $406 USD accessory on the mbusa.com site.
That's a pretty reasonable price if you simply want the lighted sill effected.

Brabus does carry illuminated doors sills too, however, when I checked it was only for the front doors. Also, my dealer had the Mercedes Benz illuminated door sills---but only for the front doors as well---only the S class had all four doors---at least according to my dealer. The AMG sills I ordered from Europe were the only ones I found that were for all four doors--and I have to admit---I really like the look.

I personally don't care about the back doors. I don't open them that often. I just want to enjoy them when I open it or for my passenger. The people in the back are second class citizens anyways when sitting in the car. Look how small the back door sills are anyways.

I would have the dealer do the install. On my S class, there was alot of work involved. It is not just a matter of splicing a few wires in, if you want it done right. It took the MB dealer most of the day to do mine, and I saw that it was intensive. They do look great, and all 4 doors are highly recommended.

Crankin is right, I would get the dealer to do it --or another professional you trust. I am sure you could figure it out---but you hate to do it on your car--

Rave, those are very inexpensive and it would be interesting to see if they are identical, lookswise.
One difference will be that those cheap ones only have bare wires, which will need to be spliced in. The real ones actually each have their own relay switch and connect at a box of some type under the back seat (in an S class).
Functionally, with the real ones each door sill light operates seperately: they don't all come on at the same time regardless of whether door is open or not. The real ones also shut off after the door is left open for a preiod of time. I am not sure if the spliced in ones will perform the same.
Warranty issues could also arise with the cheap ones.

Wow-- I am in there feeling stupid with you--if these are indeed the same---but hey---that is the beauty of these forums to get the word out-----if these are legit---than at least no one else will be taken to the cleaners. BTW---when your illuminated sills come in---why don't you take some pics of them before installation--this would help in comparing the total hardware in your kit to the "For My Mercedes" offering--

No instructions provided. From my understanding, anybody who has access to WIS (i.e. registered certified MB tech) will be able to obtain the necessary instructions. Any member in this forum?

Yep, those are the real deal. Wiring is the same as on my S class. They are a real PITA to install, took the dealer all day.
