I currently use my Mercedes-Benz iPhone dock which has a connector for music. The phone connects to the car via bluetooth, but charges if docked and streams music through it's iPhone connection.

I can stream music from the Pandora app and it even shows the song that is playing on the instrument cluster display.

This is pretty good considering the car is more than 9 years old.

I have since modified the dock to accept my iPhone 4. I also bought a Lightning to 30-pin adapter from Apple and my iPhone 5 works well too. It doesn't sit in the cradle as nicely, but it works; charges and music plays no problem.

Thats pretty cool. I also see that your taste in music is not too shabby

If I was a fan of apple I would get an Iphone but since I avoid Itunes like the plague its never going to happen.

except the call quality via the MB BT kit is absolute garbage. the phone book feature is fine, but compared to the modern BT headset/kits, the MB BT dongles are basically worthless because the built in mics suck. No one can understand you.

Unless you're 1) having a job interview, 2) doing a business meeting, or 3) yapping away for hours on end, the MB BT kit is useful but not exactly garbage.

The scenarios above are most likely ones where you wouldn't be talking on BT.

I just want the streaming. If I want to make or take a phone call I just pick up the phone. I kid. I kid.

Well, cancel that. I tried ordering the factory Bluetooth cradle adapter from OEDiscountparts.com as they had it listed for $210.00 plus free shipping. Just got an email stating the price was $252.00 and their website was WRONG.

Won't be ordering from them ever again.

So looks like I'm back to square one. I might as well try the cheap Bluetooth adapter from Amazon and see what happens.

Actually the lady who handles OEDiscounts.com is awesome but they have a replacement now who is a douche bag. I would wait 2-3 more weeks to order it. Her name is Tracy and she will honor that price.

You can have my non-startrekky (latest version) for $100 shipped.

Surely a lot of us drive while conducting business. I'm not interviewing anyone, but I need to be heard when making statements that affect income. Either the mic, or the BT puck is having problems, or everyone I talk to is hard of hearing.

Dibs....can you give me some details? I can stream music from it? How does it connect to my car? I have the phone cradle in my center console.

Thanks,

Exclamation

Well I tried the cheap bluetooth adapter from Buy.com for $9.99...$17.00 shipped.

http://www.buy.com/prod/black-blueto...241764451.html

Turns out it does work, using the charging adapter. The only problem is a slight static sound, very slight, and no more steering wheel controls. You can only change songs by using your phone. Worth a couple of bucks until I find a permanent solution. I can also make phone calls and hear them, but they can't hear me.

I read a lil more into and seems this Bluetooth adapter is analog, the more expensive one is digital. That might work a little better? Might try that one too...

I just hardwired a generic bluetooth adapter to the cig acc power. It connects to the aux in in the glove compartment. Works great and now can play bluetooth music from my iphone wirelessly! One of my favorite mods yet.

Did all this for about $50... mainly the cost of the bluetooth music adapter.

This iPhone cradle is exactly what I want - what part do I need to buy and modify ??

Have you guys tried the viseeo range? If you have the curly wired phone kit the mb1000 or mb3000 are perfect, if you have the newer car phone system, they do kits that will stream music too....

Or if you get the mb3000 and then get the wma1000 will plug in to the iPod connection and allow good quality streaming.
