Ec tune + 550 injectors = terrible idle and drive?
I have the following mods:
82mm OEM Mercedes throttle body
550 injectors
Stage 2 fuel rail
Upgraded HE and Meizere pump
Trunk tank
Kleemann headers with front cat delete
Colder plugs
168mm lower. And smaller upper pulley (roughly 180mm equivalent)
Belt wrap kit
Eurocharged tune and trans tune
The good...11.2@125 first time to track
The bad...after adaptation, the car will stumble, idle awfully, at times will run so lean that it will pop back through the intake.
I have called and spoken with Jerry. No help
I have called and spoken to Adam. Acted like he had never heard of this before.
I have check the engine over and over. NO Air leaks! It is the tune. If i cant get to the bottom of this, i will reinstall the stock injectors, and get a Kleemann tune...i know it works. I have used it before. Just was lured into the bigger injectors.
HAS Anyone had anything like this..... Car runs perfect after reset. Drive slow and low and let adaptation happen, it will run so lean.......

Wow! It doesn't sound like your getting any help from Eurocharged. My car did that at first, but Jerry dyno tuned it again and I've never had the problem again.
Hopefully they will help you get it all sorted out. Good luck!
BTW what is a stage 2 fuel rail? If its just looped, then who made it?

I will not let it get to the misfire point. I have a dedicated wideband and can see when it happens. I have no codes or check engine light. It just runs really lean at idle and part load after adaptation occurs. I then have to do the adaptation reset and it goes away for three or four days.

That's interesting-I am having a similar problem with a similar build (see sig, stumbling and leaning out after it adapts), but my rough idle is throwing codes (P2096/P2098/P0505), and the interior lights/headlights are dimming/bouncing with idle. Have already replaced an O2 sensor to address the lean code (might be doing the next one too), but before that will be replacing the voltage regulator (per a few suggestions).
Also, I have an EC tune now, but it did it before with a different tune, so I don't think it is the tune necessarily. Working with Jerry and others though, so if it is, at least we will get it both figured out

The thing that gets me is its fine after adaptation reset then goes bad. That starts to point to me in something that is telling the ecu to do something different to accommodate. Do you have any pending codes? Can you also triple verify that the injectors are seating correctly and make sure the connectors are seated well. I have seen something similar where one of the injector connectors wasn't fully snapped on and lose.

If you are at a steady cruise, does the ECU maintain roughly 14.7:1 AFR?
When you see this lean thing, is it when you do a slow tip in from cruise and see it go lean as soon as it goes into open loop?
What is your fuel trim deviation in closed loop holding a steady 60 MPH on flat ground?
