220mph speedo

Looking for one.. Wondering if anyone's done this or know where to pick one up from.

I know Vath sells a 360kmh speedo but I want a mph one.. Although I'll end up settling on Vath if a mph doesnt exist.

I believe the SL65's have a 220 MPH speedometer. Can it be adapted to the E55 . . .

On a very different side note, could these kind of speeds achieved by our E55s ?

My speedo goes until 320 kph which is 198 mph and I've seen people do 200 mph on dot as well but that extra 20 mph ?

07' SL65, 04' E55, 03' Evo8, 08' GSXR, DSM's...
Yes, the SL65 has a 220mph speedo, but it looks nothing like the ones in the E55 so definitely would not just be a straight type of swap.

GPS log it if you're gonna go that fast! I wouldn't trust the factory speedo at that speed anyway. Any slight discrepancy in calibration due to tire size, brand or wear, plus mechanical accuracy are multiplied the faster you go.

Damn what was that like? Did the car get noisy inside? I've done 200 on a bike but for some reason it seems crazier in a car. Fastest I've had a car up to was 165ish in a Trans Am a long time ago. The frameless windows sucked out of their weatherstrip at the top at that speed and scared the **** out of us!

That is insane! I know these cars are capable, and even though my E63 is delimited to 186mph I would be terrified to test that... I would be scared of tire failure at those speeds... especially on a public road with imperfections...

Fastest I have been in a car was ~140 in my old M3 and that was pretty intense!

some cls55 have the 200 plus mph speed and they are a direct fit into the w211 e55.
However they will have to be coded and adjusted for mileage.
Occasionally you can find them on eBay.

Can i get a used cluster and have the dealer transfer the mileage from my car to the CLS cluster or does it have to be new?

Oh ok so they all have the capability to do a used cluster, but might for one reason or another not want to mess with it?

exactly. most of the time they will insist on doing to install on the used ones to minimize odometer roll back fraud.

Yeah, most people don't seem to think the speeds possible in our cars. I say once my build is over I will prove everyone wrong. I think I will see over 220. I've been north or 170 and let me tell you it was still pulling like a freight train. And at the time I was barely pushing 500whp.

As for the speedo, I'm confused.. There is a 220 swap from a CLS possible? I don't think there is anyway to get a 65 to fit.

What are you doing power wise in your build and how much power do you plan on getting to?
