There is never an oil burning smell or smoke coming from the car. And no hard starting, and hesitation. But there is no way there is damage in a cylinder causing this, EVERY plug I pulled looks similar. Unless my engine is running fine but showing damage based on spark plugs.. If somebody here was local I would invite them over to show, the car runs like a damn tank! I don't get it. It runs great but symptoms show otherwise. I really don't know anymore..

EDIT: Maybe the car runs slightly richer than normal, and it turned the plugs black after almost 80K miles if it?

Car runs like a dream now, the only problem being it running hotter than normal IATs. I am getting resolved now, and then it will be good to go.

Split the cooling system.

I forgot about that mod.. Now I must start my research on this, unless you have links to good threads on the topic.

Got a call from Blackstone this morning telling me the results will be emailed to me shortly. Hopefully nothing serious!

Long time no update, haven't had time to be on here lately, after I bruised a few disks in my back from a good fall. I am OK now, but still have some limited mobility. Since I last posted, I have only put about 100 miles on the 55. Got the euro charged tune but haven't put it on the car yet. Also finally got my Forgestar F14's and man are they slick. Gotten many compliments on them only hours after installation. As of now, I may just park the AMG and either use my '88 190E or get another car (not mercedes) just to put road trip miles on and such. Right now I am still on the fence on whether or not to do cosmetic conversions on the car (Bumpers, tail lights, etc), but should decide shortly. I also found out I may be getting let go from my current job due to downsizing, but I may be able to pick up a welding job here soon more than doubling my income, so that's what I am waiting for regarding the conversions and such. Only time will tell.

resurrecting this thread from the dead. Dealing with a similar problem with my C55. Do you remember what the Blackstone oil analysis showed for your E55?

also dealing with this issue on my C55. Such a relief that I’m not the only one. I sent my analysis to blackstone only for them to tell me I’m good even though I saw some sparkle in my oil. Not really sure what to do.

What to do... what to do!

Take me a few deep breaths guys.

Change the oil on time. Use the right oil and quality filters.

Not too damned much you can do about glitter in the oil is there.

If if it blows up you will replace the lump with another and life will go on.

This is very true and appreciated. Not really too stressed at this point because this has been noted over 3,000 miles ago on my
vehicle. Im more so curious as to what the hell would cause it to happen since I’ve never heard this on the M113 engines.

I’ve seen the glitter in too many to count that continue to run without issues for years.

Not a one thing to be done about it until the autopsy.

May as well enjoy it.

I appreciate your wisdom. I will be doing just so! Honestly if it happen it happens I’m not going to let it get to me too much. Just that if it does I will seriously be questioning how the hell this happened in a motor like this.

I have also seen this many times to even count. One thing I can tell you is "Change that oil often" !!! It will hurt nothing and is piece of mind.
Even when the engine was pulled for performance rebuild it was PERFECT inside.

I currently change mine at 5,000 miles. I used FCP euros lifetime warranty for oil changes so oil changes are not an extra cost for me anymore. Should I do 4,000 or 3,000?

You just ship back used oil to FCP and they credit you?

Well I am going to say something that I will be for sure looked at like I am a fool. But due to how I beat/race my car I will change the oil out every 1,000 miles....sometimes sooner !
It always looks dirty when I inspect it and I could care less what it cost. Also by doing this can see what is going on as well and catch it early.
And I would also like to know how you do your oil exchange with FCP Euro as they are 10min from my house.

Yes, you save the old oil and when you reorder you send back the old oil and they credit you. they have a lifetime replacement. It cover almost everything they sell. You send back the filter, wiper blades, brake discs, and rotors. Check them out and their prices are reasonable.

I buy from them a fair amount. I just didn't realize that oil was part of their program.

Hmmmm....interesting. This is a game changer for sure with the amount of oil I go through !
Wonder if you can return it in person ?

I looked into it and it appears if you live close to their facility you can return items in person.
