Been spotting flakes and sparkles in my M113 oil since 2011 across 3 different cars and 4 different engines. Never a problem, though. My theory is that it's aluminum because it's not magnetic. Oil pump chain or timing chain rubbing against something? Who knows, but I just crossed 320k miles in the C43 and I beat it like a redheaded stepchild. It's fine.

Sorry for the late response. Yes! You can indeed get a lifetime of oil changes at the cost of one. I really am not kidding. If you buy through FCP Euro, they will send you the kit. Save the oil containers. When you want to change that oil out, all you do is buy another kit. When you drain your first set of oil and put it into the old containers, you can send it back to them (they provide instructions and a label for you on the website) and they will give you a refund. It’s a constant buy and get a refund process. But on other terms I once again appreciate the relieving information from earlier. I hope this new information can help you out now too! They have this warrant on all their parts. Only exceptions will be some items that can’t be returned when used such as brake cleaner or other types of spray.

Sorry everyone. Don’t mean to bump up the thread again, but found metal in my oil and filter again in my oil change today. If it could be a timing chain rubbing something sort of issue I wonder if a new timing chain tensioner would help? Blackstone oil analysis came clean on the last oil change with metal in the oil. Sent them another one to see how this one looks. Fingers crossed that this isn’t an issue!

Could very well be the oil pump chain hitting the front cover. No worry's as almost every engine does it from what I have seen. I ended up grinding down my front cover a little to give more clearance when I had the engine apart... a few times. Also oil had odd "shet" in it as well and the engine tear downs showed everything was perfect in side so............

@SICAMG thank you for your constant reassurance. I can’t help myself but worry since this happened on one of my BMWs and the engine seized costing me thousands. What you say makes sense so I’ll stick with that unless the oil analysis says anything else
It's why no matter how much i want one I'm never going to buy one.
