E55 Squeal/Whine Question
The first noise is a somewhat loud squeal that only happens about 3-5 seconds after I start the car on a cold morning after the car has been sitting for at least 8 hours. It lasts between 3-10 seconds, depending on how cold/wet it is. The belt looks great, and it has the correct tension (according to my local Independent Mercedes shop). Now the car had a bunch of greasy engine shine on it when I bought it, so could it just be that stuff on the pulleys? It is getting better the more I drive it.
The second noise is a faint, high-pitched whine when I'm just leaning on the gas at around 1500-2000 rpm, but it goes away as soon as I give it more gas and the blower engages. Could this indicate a problem with wither blower pulley bearing or the blower clutch?
The whine is weird because it's only under light acceleration, but goes away as soon as I lean on it a little more and the supercharger engages. Could this be the blower pulley bearing going bad?
