Inside the housing correct ? Small orings right ?

I'm in..I do all my own maint and I have ZERO (knock on wood) valve train noise but I don't use ANY MB approved oil.

I've used Red-Line 5w-40 since I bought the car used with 30k on it and I just switched to Lubri-moly full syn 5-40.

And I change the oil every 5k...prob overkill but $80 in oil is cheaper than a rebuild.

I also use red line ~ I do oil change around 5k too ~ These modern engine oil should be good for much longer distance ~ however since I do a lot of
hard driving ~ I do mine at a much shorter interval ~!! How do you like Liqui Molly ~ this is what you meant right?

I've only just changed to it this past weekend, so no real seat time with it.

I've got a buddy who owns a Euro Perf shop, and he told me about it, and to ditch the M1 is I wanted to keep my engine happy, I trust him so I switched to red-line, but found the Liqui-Moly at my local NAPA for $8/liter which is much cheaper than the $40/gal for the RL.

I have never seen these 2 small o rings you guys are talking about. The filter only comes with the cap o ring.

I am definitely in for a E63 Bay Area GTG.

I plan to be at this Saturdays Santana Row weekly GTG. Never know what will show. Once had 3 McClarens.

Hey ~ John ~ if this is your name ~ Dont worry about the 2 other small o rings !
Our W211 E63 engine oil filter does not come with 3 orings. ONLY one for the
oil cap like you said. E55 filter comes with 2 small orings for the stick and 1 for the oil cap.

Tell me more about the GTG thing . Is this a meet up name ???? I think you and I talked about gathering up e63 guys last year ~ if we can meet up it
would be awesome ~!

The GTG is here every Saturday. Arrive at 10am and depart by noon. This is effectively in the theater parking lots.

https://maps.google.com/maps?saddr=U...ra=ls&t=m&z=17

You might see anything from a perfectly restored historic, someone trying to sell a McLaren race car, Nobles, Radicals, 3 dozen Porsche GT2/3, Vette Club, 9 Ferraris, Lambos, Audi R8, Shelby Cobras (the original), and on and on.

I strongly plan to be there tomorrow.

So none of you showed. No one from the forum showed. I was the only AMG until a SLS showed up.

It was a great turnout otherwise.
5 Ferraris including a 599GTB
10 GT-Rs
3 Lamborginis
2 nicely restored Datsun Zs
Audi R8
Number or Porsches including a GT3RS
The Noble was for sale
Tesla Model S
Old Alpha Romeo
The ever present bunch of M3s
And a couple dozen other cars
