Re-drilling wheels safe?
So I have a chance to get a great deal on some wheels but they are 5x114. I am waiting to hear back from a shop here to see if they can be re-drilled but the only thing I'm not sure of is if this would be safe being that our cars make a good amount of power?
Any advice or experience with this would be very helpful

should be ok. its just if you can afford an AMG why redrill wheels. if price were the issue there are many nice oem wheels to chose from. like cls or e63 ect

My friend uses wobble bolts to run his ordens but I was not sure on safety with having a lot more torque then most people who do this

For me...
I wouldn't do it. AMG cars are heavy, torquey, and have the wheels fairly far out there. I guess I'm just too finicky about my cars ride quality to take that on. Here's the funny part...so many of the folks on this board just crucify those who don't buy a 3/4 thousand dollar set of wheels because "they're dangerous I'm not putting that junk on my AMG". But you'd do this? Hilarious to me.

They are very high quality wheels that do cost those prices but are not available in our bolt pattern. I am just unsure if the re-drill would compromise their strength.
The wheels are Wed LXZ btw

Well,
I've been wrong at least once today, and I'm pretty sure I will be tomorrow too. But...even if you can get the bolt circle right, there is no way those offsets are anywhere close to fitting a 211.

I would think wobble bolts and metal hub rings would be ok for normal use. Just wouldn't put a tire "too" sticky on there, or take it to the drag strip on them.

Ya they will not be a simple throw on and go but no wheel I am looking at would be, have found a few people with specs close to these and they pulled it off. I am no stranger to these things being that I put the car together that they are currently on. As far as the holes go it would be professionally done so they should be able to get them correct.

redrill is fine. i'm thinking about picking up a set of work euroline's and having them redrilled or just running it with wobble bolts. i've never heard any negative reviews. just make sure you get it done by a quality shop.
