To the heavy hitters: New camshafts anyone?
Ive got my new block off to get MID sleeved, and anticipate having until summer before its a complete new engine ready to rumble.
This is a post to find out who is interested in going in on a set of specific 55k camshafts. There's a possibility of getting the run down as little as ten sets with pricing par for the course or better. My thoughts are currently leaning towards a more aggressive profile than what is currently available, and I realize that most are not willing to hear a noticeable chop to their idle in a car like this.
Initially I figured I'd just design the profile, and pay for the batch myself and sell the rest on at retail over the course of who knows how long and get a set for myself for free. However I could care less about making a dollar off the batch and figure there might be enough interested parties to get a small run done and we all get them at cost. We could compile opinions on profile beforehand as well.
Thoughts?

LOL Me and you would get along good. Great minds think alike. My 5 year old asked me if i would pay for his college after watching a cartoon talking about college. I said nah how about you be a pro athlete so dad can stop working and live off you. He said "Ok that sounds like a good plan"

There is not much room in the head for much more lift and second the stock springs will go into severe spring bind, if the cams are not very carefully engineered for the heads. So that leaves low lift and high duration style cams but if you can do that and keep a wide lobe seperation, then more power will be there across the band. I was going to run 20 sets of custom cams for our engines but then decided to work on getting darton to make our MID sleeves instead.

That's what it looks like, I've been looking over a spare set I have here and discussing w Steve in VA, it looks like the less complicated route will be to leave the lift where Patrick at PTE had it and run the duration, LSA and ICL to suit a built blower engine. The hassle should be limited to flycutting for PTV clearance.
