I was thinking someone less lazy than me could start renting out their Star setups for a week at a time. There always seems to be someone who is looking for someone local. I'll be the first customer. Any takers?

Well, at the same time I think it shouldn't be at a price point where the lender can just keep the security deposit and weekly cost as if he wanted to sell it.

I also agree, if it was my unit that i was sending out, i would not do the security deposit for less than what it would take for me to fully replace the unit should it get broken/ stolen.

what about a post limit? that may help ensure it is a good member who is getting the unit. if they don't have enough post then they can still use it but they will pay the cost and it will be shipped to a nearby member who agrees to meet them to do the coding and ship it back?

I think $100/week is good whether they are a new member or not. People will start complaning. If I went to replace mine with new, I would be around $550 with laptop...

+1 for Shardul. Everything went smoothly and I now have SBC Hold and my power folding mirrors are working correctly. FYI, prior to Star coding my drivers mirror wasn't folding correctly but Star fixed that and its working great now.
