They were standard previously but one of the ways MB was able to avoid raising the price of the new (211) E55 vs. the 210 was to make some of the previously standard equipment optional, hoping people would add options which would add sufficient profit margin for MB.
Bi-xenons are an option--$1150 (includes headlamp washers, woo hoo).

Man what a trip, you pay that much for an E55 and you still don't get xenons...hahaha...
You could spend an extra $10,000 to get STANDARD XENONS on an Audi RS6.....and you'd be out a whole lot more money AND have a slower car.....AND take a bigger hit on depreciation
