Only 150 miles on speedometer, but just couldn't control myself

There's a 1 mile stretch of road with no cops, traffic, or people near my house. Had to punch it. Unfortunately my 15 yr old daughter's screaming forced me to back off at 135 mph. All that stuff about 1000 mile break in period is just MB propaganda, right?

Don't feel so bad, Dr. Chill... at 230 miles I got challenged by a Corvette and got all the way up to 140 before I backed off... car's been running like a bat out of hell ever since! BTW WHERE ARE PICS OF YOUR CAR!?!????

I was waiting for the rain to stop here in FL. Also, the Lorinser grille and spoiler are not ready yet. Just look at red baron's pics. Right now mine looks identical except for tinted windows.

You made it longer than I did. I think I had about 17 miles on it (approx. two miles away from the dealer on the farm roads) when I just couldn't resist testing the acceleration. I now have 1200 miles and it still runs great (and fast). Can't wait to see pics of your color/car.

Thumbs up, Dr. Chill!
What did you buy this beast for, anyway?
Do you NEED 470 hp to ferry the kids around?
Do you NEED all that torque to go to the grocery store?
75% of the value of this car is it's entertainment capacity.

Has anyone actually heard of an AMG engine bogging down and being permanently harmed by early aggressive driving? I drove mine full tilt right out of the box and have had no problems thru 35,000 miles.

2002 C-32 AMG Renntech
The way the motors are put together I doubt any harm was done...in fact, aren't they dynoed at the factory?

You plan on tweaking that beast, perhaps a visit to Renntech?
