hi,
just went for a dyno. did 3 3rd gear pulls(dyno mode). dyno'd @ 490whp/590wtq
on the way home notice tranny slip from 2nd to 3rd gear. (all other gears are fine)
changed from dyno mode to normal mode. sneaky reset. still happens.
now its parked in the garage and hope for the best in the morning.

If you turn off your car and turn it back on is it ok for a bit and then goes bad again? If so then it's your conductor plate which is no big deal
If the problem doesnt fix for a bit by turning it off and on then it might be the trans unfortunately

Yeah nice numbers man! I thought you were going to leave her stock, not many places in GTA area to unleash her lol
And I hope it's just a small issue and nothing too big !

Not exactly sure. I was picking on an M3 and on the third pull I heard CLINK! And then the car felt like it had a flat. When we opened up the diff, pieces started falling out. the driver side axle had micro welded itself in the stock diff and cracked.

Check your transmission fluid level. You will need to get the MB "test dipstick" since the car doesn't have one or get the dipstick out of another automatic you have access to. Shove it all the way down until it bottoms out in the pan and take a measurement how far up the stick the fluid level is. Start the car and put it in neutral for a proper reading when you do this. If checking when fluid is cold (haven't been driving car around or had running for long) then it should be right at 20mm up the stick at 77 degrees F (25 C). 10mm is the "low" point so you want it between 10 and 20mm up the stick but closer to 20mm. Or if testing hot then 65mm up the stick is the "max" and 55mm up the stick is the "low" point. This can be checked after 10 minutes of driving and at a fluid temp of 176 F or 80 C.
I recently had a tranny slipping issue but mine was in 1st gear. I thought the tranny was shot and didn't have a dipstick and just jumped to conclusions and purchased another transmission. I then bought the test dip stick and my fluid was way down at the 10mm mark. 1 quart of fluid and the car was good again.
If you do end up finding out the transmission is bad and are looking for another one then let me know I will sell you mine for a good deal. It is on a pallet ready to be shipped.

A question , so dyno mode is such a resource consumer that it ate his transmission in 3 pulls ? I know you all recommend doing dyno pulls in 4th gear but only 3 pulls really ?
btw David how many miles/kms on your car eh ?

On my car or the spare transmission I bought? Car has like mid 80s miles, trans I bought that didn't put in I forget, would have to look up the listing.
Edit: Tranny is said to have 83,000 miles.

This prob is not a viable option given your location, but I'll throw this out there and David you could take advantage if ever needed , Brumos Motorcars has LIFETIME warranty on any part bought and installed by them. That includes trans, struts whatever!
Only pay for that part once and never again.

went to a shop today, oil level is good. tech went for a drive and he told me he thinks the tranny is fine and it just doesnt want to shift from 2 to 3. its like a free rev then it shifts.
he said could be a part that needs to be replaced. told me to drive gently and if it doesnt go away in a few days then drop it off to him.
hopefully this is will be fixed soon without spending a crap load of $.

I have one that is practically brand new, maybe 2 miles on it. Had a stuck in 2nd gear problem (would not shift up or down) and thought it was that but it ended up being junk in my valvebody causing the valves to stick. Took the conductor plate right back out after driving down the road and having the same problem. Was gonna put it up for sale a long time ago but just never did, have a nearly brand new valve body in the garage too which also has a conductor plate on it that it came with, was gonna sell that too but never did lol.
Valve body cost me like $800 or $850 and the conductor plate I want to say I paid around $250 for since I bought it from the dealer but they can be had for $150ish online. Had the valve body in the car for probably 80 miles then put my stock one back in that I had Paramount Performance modify.
I guess I have a lot of damn transmission stuff and money tied up between the spare transmission, the valve body and the conductor plate. I need to get rid of this stuff!
I could help you if you need to try something, not to worried about the conductor plate since it isn't big money but I am out of town for work, I may be able to talk a friend in to going by my house and getting it and shipping it out though.
