FINALLY found an E55 by accident new owner
I'm back! I was looking for an E car and almost bought an 2009 E63 but didnt want the last year of body style so thought I would wait for the 2010s to come down. I actually gave up looking about 2 months ago or so as everyone I saw was one POS after another or the price was just too high for the car if it was a decent one. Anyway, by accident I ran into a 2004 E55 with 79k on it and it had new motor mounts, new struts, clean car with clean carfax. It is gray (you guys call this pewter it seems? is it called that? I thought pewter was more tan) with black interior and not many options, only dynamic seats and they work, surprisingly. I got it for $17200 and it is clean! I dont have any pics yet because it is at my friends shop with the wheels off to get them refinished so I will have $17800 into it, a hair more than I was going to put down on an e63! lol Anyway, with in the next 6 months to a year I may find exactly what I am looking for and be wanting to sell this one for whatever I have into it, if any of you have any interest in the future. I think it was a pretty good deal so now I will post a new thread to find out about a tuning guy here on Long Island. When I was looking heard a couple of months ago you guys really helped in all the facts about these cars so I wanted to thank you all!

My god some of these cars are starting to go cheap. I would not sell mine for a penny under $24k-25k range right now with about 83k miles (and not with the 20s for that price) and I am pretty sure if someone offered me $25k today I wouldn't take it. Mine has a lot of options though, and is the all mighty WHITE with PANO roof which boost value for many. Tons of mods too that some may like, some may not.

Yeah I wouldn't sell yours for 25k either if I were you. What else are you going to get for 25k better looking and performing than that?
17.2 is a real deal, congrats!

Damn, you got a good deal.. Pays off to wait and find a good deal.
FYI, this is pewter.. Looks really good with gunmetal wheels in my opinion

Keep in mind, I didn't wait. I stopped looking and this one fell in my lap. Also keep in mind that I sell old collectible muscle cars so I am always looking in the back of my mind! lol
Worm: I do not know if you remember but I was only looking for white and they are, indeed, more valuable. Options are more valuable as well but at this price, I had to buy it. I am the one who looked at that loaded 2006 e55 white pano car in mass. with 70k mi for $24500 (asking $27k or something) and warned everyone that it was junk! lol That was 5 hours drive for me! This one will hold me over for a while and I already inquired about a pulley and tune so who knows maybe I will keep it for a while. I will do everything it possibly needs, if anything, to have a very nice car so when, and if, I do decide to sell it..it will need nothing!
ANight: I guess it is pewter then but it looks gray as hell to me! lol
Someone painted the roof black on mine and it looks great, I must say! I personally wouldn't have done it but it does look good, looks like pano without the weight!

Only maintance things you might want to do is the crank position sensor which is fairly quick and easy to change and not pricey (buy online) and maybe the voltage regulator on back of alternator too which again isn't pricey and pretty easy to change. Those are two common "issues" that could leave you hi and dry. Then if the car just doesn't feel like the power is there, maybe after one pull on a warmer day then your supercharger cooling pump may have checked out, which again is easy to change and won't break the bank.

Nice buy! I would always rather purchase a used super car for $17,800 than buy a cheap Honda Civic or Toyota Yaris new for same price. Most people are scared of the maintenance costs and think negative that everything will brake down. So far my E55 has been very reliable. Enjoy your car!
