2004 E55 engine whine

I forgot to mention this to you guys about the car. It makes a whining noise when running, I can't even explain it..just simply a whine. Sounds like a belt tensioner or one of the pullies is gone bad. I brought it to my buddies friend who actually works for mercedes and rents his shop at night for his personal customers...anyway...when I brought it to him he actually said WOW this is quiet! He said, You wouldn't believe the whines that I have heard! So, me being a lil thickheaded...I had my friend remove all the pullies and we started it...guess what? Same f***in noise. What on earth is it and can it be quieted down?

Oil pumps on the v8 kompressors are noisy. Especially on start up. It is normal. Pulleys make noise at times but if you ran it without belts, it's obviously not a pulley.

Mine is a whiny bi**h too. Bad on startup, that's the trans fluid pump I remember GTER saying, but mine kind of sounds whiny he whole time as well, belt or no belt. Whatever, if it blows up I'll fix it.

LOL I can hear the header "tick" sometimes from mine but don't really ever notice a whine I don't think. Who knows, I ignore the little things.

So Nomad did you figure out if you had a stock crank pulley or not?
